"Pst! Poe!" Poe turned to see his childhood friend poking him with something, "what?" He whispered back, "take it!" 'What?' Then he realized what the younger boy was poking him with a small piece of paper.

He slid the paper back to Ranpo and waited for his response which came rather quickly.

I'm sorry I'll get you a cupcake if you stop distracting me

[after class]

The next period was lunch and being seniors they could leave the school as long as they got back in time for their next class. "Your so mean Ed~" "Ranpo-san please, why don't you just pay attention?" "Because the classes are so boringggg" Poe sighed as Ranpo grabbed his hand and began dragging him somewhere. "Ah! Ranpo!!" "Look Ed!! Look!!" Poe looked at the window Ranpo had dragged him too, "what?" "You said you'd get me a cupcake, so here we are I want these" "oh. Right, come on".

[the next day]

Poe huffed rubbing his eyes and waiting for the teacher, "Poe~~" "what?" "Do you have a pencil?" "Really?" Ranpo whined: "I forgot mine again" Poe once again sighed and dug a pencil out of his bag, "this good?" "Yep! Thanks" Poe hummed turning to the teacher.

Poe felt a piece of paper slid into his lap. Looking down he picked up the piece of notebook paper.

"your very pretty in that window seat Poe-kun~"

Poe blushed at his "friends" comment. Ranpo has been like this since they were kids and Poe still hadn't gotten used to it.

"Thank you Ranpo-san"
"What to come over after school?"
"Sure, if you pay attention"

After that Ranpo actually seemed to pay attention Poe didn't expect that to work. It hadn't in the past Ranpo would usually just knock on his window when Poe didn't come over to his. But hey who was Poe to complain?

[the next day (again)]

After a sleepover with Ranpo Poe was pretty well rested Ranpo went to sleep pretty early and he made Poe go to sleep with him so he wouldn't write all night. Once again Poe felt a slip of paper in his lap and sighed picking it up.

"Edddd I'm bored again"
"Ranpo how about you talk to Dazai?"
"He's passed out and besides you're funner to talk to"

Ranpo thought he was funner to talk to then Dazai Osamu? Poe couldn't help but blush.

"Your cute when you blush"
"Oh hush Ranpo"

Poe didn't answer Ranpo anymore so Ranpo went to more annoying tactics. A paper airplane landed right on Poe's notes, which he knocked off but Ranpo was persistent. Finally Poe broke.

"Ranpo if you pay attention I'll do whatever you want tomorrow"
"Come over again!!"
"Fine"

Once again it worked. Geez guess I am a god after all.

[a month later]

Ranpo had been as annoying and high spirited as always but he had been a little different lately, more clingy and affectionate. Poe had noticed the second it happened but it wasn't a big deal, but still Poe was confused why.

"Hey Poe can you meet me in the courtyard after school?"
"Why?"
"Please Poe"
"Ok, are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine"

That was the first time in a long time Poe remembered Ranpo being the serious and he was a little worried.

[at the courtyard]

"Ranpo?" "Poe... I'm sorry" "for what?" Ranpo looked down at his feet "I like you" he blurred out blushing "? I like you too?" "No I don't mean as a friend I mean as I want to date you and kiss you and dance you know stuff like that I want to be a couple..." Poe's face went beet red, "Ranpo..." "I'm sorry I know you don't feel the same" "wait! I never said that!" "So you like me back?" "Y-yeah I do" Ranpo beamed jumping into Poe's arms and making him fall back.

"Honey!?"
"Well ofc your my boyfriend"
"Geez Ranpo your always so font forward"
"Well beating around the bush is a waste of time"
"Ranpo..."
"Wanna go on a date this weekend?"
"Oh! Ofc"
"Your blushing again~"
"Pay attention Ranpo!"
