''Spring's Eye?''

Diego raised a brow due to the sudden question.

It was a 'normal' day of tutoring the first young master of Razon when Diego was asked by something he didn't expect, especially for a boy he knew as an insufferable know-it-all. (A/N: Ehem..)

''Are you familiar with it?'' Rosh asked eagerly, leaning forward with his hands on the table between them.

''I'm..not sure.'' Diego leaned away, uncomfortably, with a weirded look in his eyes. ''But I suppose the term is quite familiar.''

''What is it? Where do you find it? Where is it from? What does it do then? Does it summon the underworld servants? Does it see through all truth? Is it a literal eye with a spring?''

Rosh bombarded him with questions, not noticing how strange he acted. He always masked himself as a confident, sadistic manipulator. Hence the scene of him asking like an interested child was new, especially to someone like Diego who is familiar with his dark personality.

''Master, your inner childishness is leaking from the bottle~'' Amros reminded in his mind.

Rosh realized what he was doing and cleared his throat. He sat back and crossed his arms, acting nonchalant. ''I'm just curious.''

The older man looked at him blankly before shaking his head. ''Well, I have read about such an item, though my memory isn't vivid.'' Diego said and held his temples, trying to remind himself of what he had read before.

''Tell me.'' Rosh demanded.

Diego sighed before speaking. ''The Spring's Eye is an object said to have the ability of a devil.'' He began. ''It was said to give tremendous power to its holder. Depending on how it's used, it could either change the world or destroy it. Save the dead, or cause it. It is an object that bends the logic of life and death. All could be achieved through...''

He paused for a moment. The next of his words could gladly fuel the interest of this child, it could even drive him into trying to find the Spring's Eye for himself.

Although Diego was hesitant, he thought there was no way Rosh would believe an absurd item from an urban legend to be real....right?

''...through despicable means. It could steal and give life. And as long as its on your hold, death will barely reach you.'' He said. Diego looked at Rosh's neutral expression. ''This is just an old story from an ancestral diary. A storybook of no importance.''

''Where is it then?''

Diego pursed his lips and shooked his head. He knew it, he expected Rosh to ask him its location. But what does he know?

''I'm not aware. Only the owner of the Spring's Eye has the knowledge about it.''

''Who's the owner then?''

Diego furrowed his brows. ''How should I know? The last records of it from the royal library is that the Spring's Eye was last witnessed two generations before.''

Struggling, whimpering, struggling, whimpering, struggling and even more whimpering.

Permitus Aphen, son of the Marquis Aphen, panted shakily as he continuously blinked despite knowing he wouldn't see anything in such a dark room.

It has been days since he went missing and he still had no idea where he is. He's heard muffled voices from what seemed like an ironed door not far from him, though he couldn't decipher any meaning from them.
