"Just look at him. I can't stand the look of his smug face. So full of crap," Jaden muttered, looking at the old, lazy neighbor across him. Jaden had a private investigator come around and prove that the neighbor next to him is responsible for the trashing of his house. It's been doing Jaden's head in since his nine to five works had him too exhausted to take care of anything else with how intense it got through the week. His weekends were his only time for solace and peace to relax and prepare himself for the week. While his neighbor is the complete opposite. He is a complete slob and they disagreed with each other so much that it became complete hatred. Council couldn't even help their situation. The two became neighbors almost a year ago and a lot of bad blood fueled between them that Jaden's snobby, lazy neighbor had decided to cross the line.
Jaden came home to a shocking realization that his house had been brutally egged and vandalized. Everything seemed to suggest the mastermind behind it all was Fred, but at the same time he was too lazy to do anything like this. It wouldn't aswell take someone much energy to trash someone's place. Fred had a lean figure despite the fact his arms were as thin as noodles. All of this confusion had rumbled and killed his thoughts that he had a sensible family member to try and sort this out. Phil. Phil always held the key to every problem. He's known as the man who always had the heart to help someone regardless of whatever problem he held. Fred couldn't care less and moped around in his house as usual, doing his indoor job, and lying around like life didn't hold much value to him anymore. Jaden would naturally pity him about it and encourage him if he didn't constantly shut him out and worked on his social skills to atleast to be a little cordial. It's the exact reason why Jaden couldn't see his face. It only spiked up after this little stunt.
Phil had recently gone to Fred's house to talk to him about and ask him about everything that happened to Jaden's house. Fred had obviously denied all responsibilities. "You come into my house and blatantly accuse me like this? What kind of disrespect is that?" Fred said, perking up at the accusations. "I'm not saying you did. I'm asking you to look deep in your heart and mind if you even have it, with your conscience, did you do this?" Phil asked. "My conscience is clear, and I had no involvement in his house getting trashed like that. Although, I did find the look a little amusing because of how much of a pain you are." Fred answered, snickering. "I don't find anything funny about this. You are messed up in the head. If you aren't the guilty one, then help me," Phil offered. "Okay. I guess anyone deserves that. I would be on the street begging for all the help I can get," Fred said, shrugging. "Let's get to it. What do you have in mind?" Phil asked. "Maybe some cameras that show the entire view of his house? Let's order a cleanup for him so he becomes a target," Fred suggested. "That's brilliant! We'll do just that. Half and half. What do you think?" Phil replied. Fred grumbled. "Oh. Fine! Let's get this cracking and done with."
The cameras were set and hidden out of visible sight. The cleanup crew had alright arrived finishing up the house and Jaden would be here any minute. Phil had counted and hoped Jaden would come after since it would be a bright surprise for him. Jade pulled inside, really confused, and happy about his shiny car. "What's going on here?" he asked. "We are in the process of finding the guilty one and we are close to finding what we need to. This idea gives us the key to your thorn," Phil explained. "We?" Jaden asked. "Yup me and my new buddy Fred have decided to help me about," Phil said, bringing Fred in. "Isn't that so kind of him?" "Yeah, so kind that he's just trying to cover up his guilt of trashing up my house!" Jaden hissed back, crossing his arms. "For the last time, I didn't trash your crap house and I'm going to prove it to you. Just watch," Fred retaliated. "Let's be calm about this or we won't get anywhere," Phil said. "We both have the sole intention of finding out the guilty. Tonight, we all go to bed and tomorrow, our suspect is revealed," he explained.
The three went to bed and they all stayed in the same house for the sake of it. Fred's house seemed a lot cleaner than Jaden expected it to be. It was cleaner and more organized than his place, although he would never admit it. He didn't want to make a decision until the resolution became clear to him. "Quality house. Surprises me since I never pegged you to be that type of homeowner," Jaden muttered. "I also like to focus on the fact that I never ruined your house like that." "Time will tell. Regardless, thanks for letting me stay over," Jaden said, leaving the living room. Jaden marched up the stairs to the guest room and cozied himself on the sofa turned into a makeshift bed. The two houses were on complete lockdown. All the lights were off and tried to give off the expression, no-one was home. Phil had been in the room hoping to get the clear look of the guilty man or woman. Nearly forty minutes later and still nothing. Almost an hour later, still nothing. "What's going through your head?" Jaden asked, waking up from his small nap. "We're persistent. We're resistant to giving up. I'm glad that I got the sleep I needed," Phil said, lying back and watching the cameras through his laptop.
"Wait. I see someone," Fred whispered, zooming in on the laptop camera. Someone was in the background, fully cloaked up, really short in height, and had a bag of goodies with him. He pulled out a batch of eggs and started chucking them at Jaden's house from afar. "See I told you it wasn't me!" Fred said, rubbing it in. "Let's finish this first. This is the worst timing. You want to do this now," Jaden hissed, running out the door. Phil and Fred followed him out the door. Whatever they planned on doing was out the door and worthless. Jaden already had the guilty midget pinned down. "Why do this? Why make another's life more difficult?" Phil asked. Fred pulled off the man's mask. Jaden gasped and let his grip on the man go. "Nick! After everything I did for your family. You repay me like this!" "I was drunk! I swear! I couldn't resist the urge no more for the booze!" he said, shaking in guilt. "The cops are almost here," Phil whispered to Jaden. "Good. You're going to pay for the stress you've caused me and Fred here." The cops eventually showed up and picked Nick for all the damage he caused. The department claimed to find someone for free to clean it all up for free and cover all the costs. They handed the three the card for any more problems. Nick was confined until a conclusion could be drawn. The records show it hadn't been the first time he committed this offense. Despite how regretful for his actions Nick claimed to be, he continued to resist. It was simply done to deter someone's mental and physical wellbeing. "You know? I'm sorry for questioning you like that," Jaden said, patting Fred on the back. "No! You had every right to question me. I wasn't exactly the most convincing. My behavior to you in the past didn't exactly give any reason to believe whatever I said," Fred assured. "Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows? Let's start a clean slate over a nice drink," Jaden offered. "I'd like that. To neighbors reborn," Fred nodded. "So, when am I getting paid? You did ask me to come for my services? So, who's paying me?" Phil asked. The two just looked at each other, laughed it off, and walked the opposite direction, arms around each other. Phil could at least be happy he stopped a future bloodbath from occurring. "Something to add to my resume." He thought. "I earned that much."
