What It Feels Like

"Nezu wants to talk to me?" Izuku asked, as he walked with Uraraka to the rodent's office.

"Well, the HSPC finally made a decision, and no, before you ask, I don't know what that is."

Izuku shut his open mouth.

"I do have a question," he said, after some thought, and she turned to him, eyebrow raised.

"So I was looking at my page online, and someone posted this video of 'me' swinging from a couple months ago," he said, handing her the phone.

"Notice how this guy is swinging? In a straight line, up and down, up and down. I don't swing like that. I'm more... um.." he paused to search for the word he was looking for.

"Reckless?" Ochaco offered.

"Expressive," he corrected firmly, lightly glaring at her, and she playfully stared back. "How didn't that set off any alarm bells?"

"I-I don't know." Uraraka admitted, suddenly slowing to a complete stop, bringing him to a standstill as well.

"Ocha?" Izuku asked, sensing something was off. "What's wrong?"

"You didn't- While you were-" She paused to gather herself. "I noticed something was off with you. But every time I tried reaching you, you just blew me off, and... um... at some point, I cornered you, and you yelled, and I just-"

Izuku embraced her, as she broke down, tightly holding on to her, and she held on to him just as tightly.

"Oh, I'm a mess, I felt so.. so useless... and betrayed.. and-"

"Ochaco." Izuku interrupted her. "I am so sorry, so so sorry, that that happened. I depend on you. I-I... I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry too," she apologized again. "Oh, Nezu is waiting, let's go."

It turns out, the HSPC couldn't exactly decide what to do with Spider-Man, as he provably wasn't responsible for his actions, but they wanted him to be a registered hero, at least some of them. They came to the compromise of giving him a license, if he can catch whoever brainwashed him, lest it happen again, and in the interim, a licensed hero would supervise him.

Izuku was just glad that his years of vigilantism hadn't landed him multiple life sentences. He wanted to return to swinging soon, but there was someone he had to see first.

Izuku (In his normal clothes) had been standing on the doorstep for a while now, trying to work up the courage to knock. Just as his knuckles were about to finally make contact with the wood, it swung open, and the older lady who opened it looked at Izuku with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face.

"May..." Izuku breathed.

"It's good to see you sport," she said, stepping aside for Izuku to walk in. "Had a feeling something was up with you. Your sister gave me a call. She explained everything."

"I-I-I-" Izuku started, but he couldn't keep himself from crying again, as he stepped into the old home.

"Hush," May said warmly, hugging him.

"May... I-I'm so sorry," he wept, and May held him tightly.

"She told you, huh," She sighed and got to her feet, grabbing her coat. "C'mon. I have a feeling it hurts you just as much."
