Changing in Seconds

Chapter 2

Even though the book was lost, the Wisest knew all the reasons behind it in his head. In fact, he was glad that the book was lost because he did not want anyone to read it. He did not want to lose anyone else he knew. He had the most pain that time than any other time in his life. When he first published it, he did not realize that anyone who knew about the reason would be in great danger, but once he realized, he didn't even tell one soul.

He found this out the hard way. His beloved daughter, Sierra, read the book one day. Sierra's mother had passed away when Sierra was young. That made Sierra very special to him. He couldn't bare to see her get hurt. He did not know the book would cost him something so valuable. Sierra's life was usual for the first few days. She would go to school, hangout with her friends, and there was no difference in how she lived.

Then frightening things started happening to her. She was having dreams that turned into nightmares. She was seeing people, ghostly figures as she called them. Her father did not believe her at first. Not until, she was trying to destroy the one published book. Sierra told him that the book caused her to turn like that. The Wisest, worried of what might happen did research himself.

He stayed up day after day finding the reason for his daughter's unusual being. Days passed, the Wisest more worried than ever, Sierra more mysterious, were causing too many problems.

The Wisest finally made a decision that it was the affect of reading that book. Worried about Sierra, we refused to let her go outside. However, Sierra disobeyed her father and went outside with the book. She never returned back and the book was never to be seen.

He blamed himself for his daughter's disappearance since he wrote the book. He never told anyone what exactly happened to Sierra. With Sierra, the only love he had left gone, he was a changed man. He could not even bare the fact that she was never going to return.
