Changing in Seconds

Chapter 5

"Okay, you to ready?" The Wisest asked Sophie and Max.

"Yeah," Sophie said confidently while Max nodded standing behind her.

Sophie and Max where the people that survived knowing the truth. They also had a family connection with the Wisest. Sophie and Max weren't related directly in their family tree. In fact, they never met before this Wisest found them. Even though both of them were 14, they were nothing alike.

Sophie had deep blue eyes that reminded people of the ocean. Her wavy brown hair rested over her shoulders most of the time when it wasn't put up into a ponytail. Sophie had a sweet, comforting smile and was every energetic. She was optimistic and believed in whatever she did. She was also a talker and knew what to say and when to say it. She was wearing a lavender colored top and dark shorts.
Her outfit matched well with her purple headband and bracelet. Her sandals were very nice as well. They were brown with little heels making her look taller than Max.

Max is the almost like the exact opposite of Sophie. He has light brown eyes like the bark of a baby tree and light brown hair that falls over his eyes most of the time. Max is quiet, unlike other boys. He has a voice which is hard to hear. He is constantly being asked to speak up. Max is tall for his age. Today, he was wearing a navy blue shirt and khaki jeans. In his feet were his favorite pair of shoes, the brown sneakers he wore most of the time.

The Wisest had a book open in front of him.

" I am going to use this spell and I am going to transport you to a place called Virginia. You two will find yourselves in a middle school called Lake Autumn." Said the Wisest while look at his book.

"Just curious, why is it called Lake Autumn?," Sophie asked eagerly.

"You will find out Sophie. Now, I need you to find a girl named Kelsey, she's in the eighth grade. And here are your schedules for school. You two are in most of Kelsey's classes. Act normal and you know how to fix this. Oh yeah, Max are you sure you are ready for this. I haven't heard a lot from you?"the Wisest finished as he handed Max his schedule.

Max simply nodded to answer his question.

Then, the Wisest said something in another language that Sophie and Max did not understand. Then they felt themselves moving fast and we're spinning rapidly. Max seemed fine but Sophie seemed to be sick. Then they stopped and were floating for a few seconds. In those few seconds, Max disappeared! Sophie started panicking and tried to calm herself down. And she dropped to the floor landing on her back.

Max was near by as well. Sophie near felt this happy to see Max. Max Wales over and helped Sophie get up on her feet.

"Thanks," she whispered. She did not want to draw attention to herself.

"Ok, let's go to the first class on schedule," Max muttered.

Sophie could not properly hear him but she understood what he meant.

Both of them started running through the crowd and to find their class. They had no idea where it was. Their feet were racing and suddenly stopped when they found themselves looking up at a teacher with an angry look on his face.
