Chapter Twelve

Everything happened smoothly as Donghyuck didn't move a finger, scared to change something.

Because of his class, the boy forgot what he and Jeno talked about on Sunday. But Jeno still got to the parking lot, initiating stuff himself. Seeing that, Donghyuck wondered if the same thing would happen in the Future Donghyuck's life or did this little thing just distorted something.

Anyway, at that time, Donghyuck was with Renjun and Jaemin. As he already had excuses about taking Noram from the supermarket (there was an accessible playground), the friends left him alone, which was way easier for him to get in Jeno's car.

"I don't remember agreeing," he said, smirking.

"Then why are you sitting in my car?" Jeno said, smirking back.

"I can get out if you want."

"No, stay."

Jeno grabbed Donghyuck by the arm. "I missed you so much."

"That's not new," the brunette teased as if trying to cover up that Jeno's words affected him.

"Let me take you somewhere. Are you hungry?"

"I have to pick Noram up from one place first."

"Okay. I'm fine with that."

"Then the kid will have to be with us," Donghyuck said, eyeing Jeno.

"That's okay."

No, it wasn't. Jeno must've said it because he wanted to smash Donghyuck.

With Jeno's help, Donghyuck got to the supermarket faster. There, he walked inside alone to collect the kid, who probably had made many friends throughout the day.

Just as Donghyuck found Noram, he took the kid out before anyone could see him. You see, Donghyuck feared being noticed by someone and getting blamed for leaving the kid in such a place for two hours. Well, at least it wasn't like eight.

They had a quick chat as they walked out of the supermarket. It was about toys and other kids. Noram's mood was good, maybe because he thought they were going somewhere to eat. When he saw that his papa was taking him to a car, Noram whipped his head to Donghyuck faster than ever.

"Where are we going?"

"We'll grab something to eat together with Jeno," Donghyuck explained as he stopped at the car door.

"Oh, okay..." Noram mumbled though he looked troubled for some reason.

Donghyuck opened the door and made sure that Noram wore a seatbelt properly. As he was busy with that, he heard how Jeno said hello and the kid replied. As he was done, the brunette went to the passenger's seat, and Jeno drove them to the nearest takeaway restaurant.

They ordered Chinese food and then drove to a park where they looked at the lake and ate. Donghyuck enjoyed what they had and could have enjoyed it even more if not for Noram. Because the kid was interrupting their conversations and talking over them as if trying to join every possible subject.

Donghyuck was annoyed by that, but Jeno seemed to be entertained, answered everything, and even had dialogues with Noram alone.

"Look, Noram! Isn't that a playground?" Jeno said all of sudden, pointing at someplace behind their car.

"Where?"

Jeno pointed again, and Noram finally saw it. He turned to Donghyuck, asking for permission which he got in a form of a sigh and nod.

The kid got out of the car and ran towards the playground to meet his new friends. Donghyuck only needed to look around to make sure Noram was safe, and then he faced Jeno.
