I would like to dedicate this to Scifiwriter because this novel wouldn't of happened if it weren't for you.

In this society today the government controls every thing. Cameras everywhere you go,guards walk through streets 24-7. Each of the 8 have there own color. Yellow is farming. Blue stands for government. Red is for doctors. Brown stands for cleaners. White is for scientists. Grey is for factory. Purple stands for musicians. And finally green is for teachers. And for the unemployed also known as "Rebels" the color is black. The government also known as "The Gods" say this is the only way for society to stay balanced.

Today was just like any other morning. Except for today was The Chosen Ceremony. My name is Myriah Calvin. I'm 18 years old. Which means in the afternoon I will be chosen my fate. I look in the mirror as I'm getting dressed. As I get my skirt on my mom walks in.

"Almost ready sweetheart?" she asks.

"Ready as I will ever be," I reply.

I live with my two parents and twin sister Aquamarine but we call her Aqua for short. I've always been jealous of her. She has bleach blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and is super skinny. Where as I have brown hair, brown eyes, and am chubby. We are obviously not identical twins. Aqua walks into the room to do my make up.

"Thats what your wearing?" she says with a look of disgust.

I look down at my pink and white floral tank and my denim skirt.

"It's formal, what are you wearing?" I replied.

We both look at her skin tight hot pink dress.

"It gets guys attention, but you wouldn't understand," she says smiling.

She always acted like she was better than me. She got cute guys while I got good grades. She was popular I was a nerd.

"Are you nervous?" I asked her.

"No, we all know that i'm going to be musicians," she answered.

She was right. We all knew that she had a beautiful voice and could play 10 different instruments.

"Are you?" she asked.

"Terrified," I replied.

"Girls! Its time to go!" dad yelled.

We both walked out of the house and down the street. No one uses cars anymore. Except the rich. Which means only the government and famous musicians. We walk to the square and sign in.

"Name?" the lady asks.

"Myriah Calvin," I answer.

"Good luck!" she says with a smile.

You could tell her smile was fake. No one is happy anymore. We walk to the doors of The Chosen Center. I give mom and dad a hug. Trying to hold back tears I open the door. Aqua and I take our seats and wait for our name to be called. We all stand as President Clock walks to the stage. Yes that is her last name. She bows front and center.

"Please be seated," she says into the microphone.

We all sit down.

"Today you will all be chosen by these test. And placed in your fate. This is how we keep this society balanced," she says.

"Now at this time I will start calling names. When you hear you name please walk though the glass door to begin your testing," She says pointing to the glass door in the back.

"Keep in mind these names are in alphabetical order," she says

"Emily Ares"

"Troy Arnold"

After what seems like forever. I hear my name.

"Myriah Calvin"

I walk to the glass door. My hands are shaking and my mouth feels like sand paper. I enter a hallway and open the door with my name on it. I walk into the no-way glass room meaning you can't see in or out. I take a seat in the chair. The women who gives me the test stand next t the chair.

"Do you know the rules of the test?" she asks.

"Yes," I reply.

"Ready?" she asks.

"Yes," I say.
