Chloe was sent back to the guest house, still dazed by the conversation she just had. She wished she could talk to Brooke, or Paige or Kendall, someone who have experience on relationships. She has never gone on a proper date, let alone marrying someone.
"What did he say?" JoJo was the first to ask.
"The Shriek... just asked me to marry his son..."
"I knew it!"
"How?"
"His father has always been paranoid about who his son dates, always worry they were after his money."
"And you knew this because?"
"Because we almost got marry."
"WHAT??" every jaw in the room dropped, everyone but Emira.
"It was years ago. We almost had an arranged marriage, in return for his oil contract."
"That's not a very good bargain!" Emira shook.
"What? Me or the contract?" JoJo felt offended, then turned to Chloe. "So thanks to me, the Sheikh has eyes on you!"
"JoJo, this isn't a joke. We barely know each other."
"This is how people do it here, marry first, have children, then work on it after. Divorce rate is far lower than in the US."
"Because most of them just assassinate the other half?" Emira interrupted.
"I'm not ready to get marry, and definitely not ready to have children!" Chloe blushed. "And why are we talking about marriage anyway? We should be focusing on the paintings."
She pushed pass the team to look at the paintings, then turned to the laptop, the screen was displaying some fuzzy image of shapes and lines.
"It's an ultrasound image, like the kind viewing babies in a mother's womb." Tilly explained.
"Babies?" Chloe blushed again, thinking the Finnish girl maybe mocking her.
"When oil paint solidifies, it creates a surface texture different from the new paint. What we're looking at are the early works before it was painted over."
"But what are we looking at?"
"I sent it to my father, he's having experts looking into it." JoJo said.
"So what do we do now?"
"We look at wedding dresses!" Tilly cheered.
"Stop it!" Chloe said shyly. "Have we anything about the burglary in the airport? Someone must have hired them."
"They are still investigating. Apparently whoever hired them covered their tracks well. Faces were never seen, and paid in crypto." Camryn answered. "We should sleep. I'm sure it will be a busy morning."
