after i wrote and sent the letter and got dress in a more appropriate clothes for outdoors, we went to the Leaky Cauldron and went to the back of the inn. there, you could see a brick wall, but it's not just any brick wall. if you tap the bricks in a pattern using your wand, the bricks will move and form an archway to Diagon Alley.

we went to Gringotts, the wizard bank to get some money from the l/n vault. after that we split up to get my things faster, i went to Madam Malkin's for my uniform and to Ollivander's for my wand, my dad went to buy my other equipments, and my mom and Vivi to flourish and blotts for my school books. along the way, i became friends with a boy the same age as me name Aiden Miller. i also got a kitten that i named Cosmos. after we were done, we went home for dinner.

"darling, when you're at Hogwarts, you know you'll find your soulmate right?" mom asked.

i looked at her and answered, "yeah, i know mom."

in the wizarding world, every witch and wizard will be able to connect to their soulmate by their 11th birthday. there are two roles: the singer, and the listener. for the singer, as the name applies, is the one to sing . as for the listener, every time the singer sings a song, they will be able to hear it. including the people around the listener, like a radio of sort.

there are some things you need to know about soulmates. there are people with the opposite gender soulmate, and there are also soulmates with the same gender. so things like homosexual relationships are quite common.

ever since my 11th birthday, i've never heard my soulmate's voice before, so that confirms that i am a singer. that's why, from time to time, i would spend my time singing. it's a good thing i developed a singing and writing songs as my hobby when i was 6.

after i was done packing my things for tomorrow, i heard a knock on my door. i opened it to see my sister. she asked me if i could sing her a lullaby since it will be my last day here, and of course i couldn't say no to her. so we went to her room so i could sing to her. as i tucked he to bed, i started singing the lullaby.

i looked at my sister to see she is peacefully asleep. i put out the lights and went to my room to sleep.

what was that voice? it was... soothing... where did the voice come from? it sounded like an angel. i hope i can hear it again...

the next day

1 september 1990

m/n pov

i got up early and got ready to go the station. i ate breakfast with my family before grabbing my trunk and Cosmos' and Noctus, my owl's, cage and used the floo network to get to King's Cross Station. we hurried between the crowds before immediately running to a pillar between Platform Nine and Ten Platform to get to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. i waved goodbye to my family after an employee took my trunk to be put in the train.

i got on the train to find an empty compartment to wait in. when i found one, i put Noctus' cage on the seat next to me while Cosmos' on my other side and opened their cages. Noctus decide to sit on top of his cage while Cosmos sat on my lap. the compartment door opened and there stand Aiden.

"yo, sorry i'm a bit late, my mom wouldn't let go of me," he said.

"it' fine," i answered.

a few moments later, the train started moving and Aiden and i started to chat.

 after 3 hours, we arrived at Hogmeade Station. we got out and saw a giant man that goes by Hagrid. he was tasked to escorts the first-years across the lake in boats towards Hogwarts Castle.

we were greeted at the castle door by Professor Minerva McGonagall, who tells us that we will soon be sorted into our houses. all Hogwarts students live in one of four residences: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin, with each house having its own team for Quidditch. the houses are in a yearlong competition with one another to acquire the most points, which are earned by success in Quidditch games and given by teachers for academic achievement and lost for student infractions, in order to win the House Cup awarded at the end of the year.

the first-years, including us, wait in an antechamber while McGonagall checks to see whether it is time yet. we then entered the Great Hall, where the entire school and a battered old hat on a stool are waiting for us. When the students that are called on to the platform try on the Sorting Hat, it announces the house in which they are placed. when it was finally my turn to get sorted, i put on my indifferent face and walked to the hat confidently. i could practically feel the stares digging through my skin, wether it's from curiosity of what house i'll be put into or jealousy of my looks, it made me very uncomfortable. 

once i got on the platform, i sat on the stool and felt Prof. McGonagall put the Sorting Hat on my head. "hmmm... yes... yes... i see... a hard-working, loyal and trustworthy person like Hufflepuff but resourceful, cunning and determined like a Slytherin as well as logical, sharp mind and full of cleverness, wisdom and creativity... better be... Ravenclaw!" as soon as the hat announced the house i was placed into, the Ravenclaw table clapped their hands excitedly. 

i walked towards the table and sat on the long bench. some of seniors started to shake hands with me and introducing themselves. a few moments later, Aiden got sorted into Ravenclaw and sat next to me Prof. Dumbledore giving his speech. after the feast, we were all guided to our dorms and went to bed, i don't know about the others but i feel excited about tomorrow.
