Error woke up due to his body overheating.  It was too hot, too fast, too much. He had never experienced any of it before but now he was feeling sick and tired, dizzy, lightheaded. He could feel the sweat on his forehead and back. Everything hurt all over. The room began to spin. Error closed his eyes as the door opened, letting in a bright light.  His eye sockets felt dry like sandpaper. When he opened them again they were still dry but the pain in his skull didn't lessen so he shut his eye sockets again. A cool hand touched his cheek causing him to flinch and glitch due to contact. When he opened his eye sockets again he was met with a cyan eye light.

"Error are you ok?"

Nightmare asked, caressing the other's face. The sight of the taller skeleton caused him to relax slightly. Nightmare had always stood by Error no matter what, even when he didn't deserve it. Nightmare cared about Error dearly.
It took a couple minutes but he finally found his voice. He spoke hoarsely.

"I am fine... Just not feeling that well."

He felt Nightmare nod against him.

"Alright let me get you a towel and something cold for your throat."

He turned away from Error, walking out of the room. Error waited for a few moments before deciding to sit up. He felt lightheaded. His bones rattled when he tried to move his arms and his joints popped. He was sweating profusely which wasn't helping his condition any.  He slowly stood up, ignoring the wave of nausea that washed over him. He stumbled toward the bathroom. He locked himself inside and leaned his head against the wall, waiting for his stomach to calm down.

"Error?"

Nightmare called as he entered the room, with a cup of water and a towel. Error was trying to catch his breath in the bathroom,  trying not to throw up.

"Yes?"

he replied, his voice coming out strained.

"Can I come in?"
"Yea sure."

Nightmare stepped into the bathroom, closing the door behind him. Error looked up at the taller skeleton, his vision blurry.

"Here."

he said holding out the cup for Error to take. Error accepted it and drank some of the cool water, wincing at the taste. Nightmare wet the towel in the sink and pressed it lightly against Error's forehead.  Error grimaced and pulled away from his touch, glaring at Nightmare.

"What? I'm trying to help you."

The taller skeleton shrugged.

"I know you are and I appreciate it but this isn't necessary. Don't worry about me."

Nightmare frowned.

"Error-"
"Really Night I'm fine."

Error cut him off.

"You are far from fine."

Nightmare sighed and handed Error the glass of water back.

"Let me see your hands. You need to rest them. They are shaking badly."

Error shook his head.

"No. I'm just going to go lay down for awhile."

Nightmare grabbed his hand.

"Error please listen to me. This isn't a game."

Error pulled his hand away.

"It is if it makes you treat me like i'm dying!"

His voice broke halfway through, the pain in his head growing worse. Error fell silent for a moment.

"Sorry."

Error apologized, lowering his gaze. Nightmare sighed.

"I don't want to see you hurt right now."
"l'm gonna have to hold you, so just get brace yourself."

Nightmare said softly. He wrapped his arm around Error's waist and lead him back to the bed. Error allowed himself to be led, his eyelights trained on the floor. He felt like crying, but he couldn't. He wouldn't cry in front of Nightmare. He sat down on the edge of the bed and Nightmare laid down beside him. He held Error close to his chest. Error curled his arms around Nightmare, hugging him
tightly.

"Please don't leave me Nightmare."

Error whispered quietly.

"I promise I won't. Go to sleep. I'll be here when you wake up."

Nightmare said soothingly.  Error nodded and rested his head against his chest.
The room fell silent and Error drifted off to sleep.

Nightmare kept his promise, As Error woke up next to him in the morning.  Nightmare was sleeping soundly, his face buried in Error's chest, making Error glitch.  Error smiled slightly as he watched the taller skeleton sleep. He carefully slipped out of Nightmare's hold, careful not to wake him up and walked over to the bathroom. He filled a glass with cold water and drank it down. The water helped a lot though it did nothing to settle the ache in his skull. Error headed back to the bedroom. He crawled under the blankets and placed one of Nightmare's arms around him. Nightmare made a sleepy grumble and moved closer to Error.  Error hated being sick, he felt weak.  He didn't like the vulnerability that came with it. And yet he loved feeling Nightmare's comforting embrace.
