I fall to my knees, my back shaking with sobs. I can't imagine him in that horrid place.

"No!" I cry, "No!"

"Let's go." An officer says as he pulls me to my feet.

"Let him go!" I beg. "Please let him go! He is a good person, I promise! He sang to me and he helped me!"

The officer continues to drag me along, "He is a murderer, he was using you."

"No!" I exclaim. "I loved him and he loved me!"

My eyes are wide and dance with craze as my hair flies everywhere. He continues to drag me back down to my room. He shoves me in and closes the door.

As I sit on the floor reality sinks in. Erik is gone, I'm held prisoner in my own room.

Erik. Erik! The man I love! I scream, yanking on my hair. I look up to the ceiling and yell, "Why did you have to take him from me? What have I done to upset you?"

I stand. How will I get him back? I'm stuck here. "Ugh!" I groan and shove a table over.

"Is this what you wanted? For me to lose it, to go insane knowing that I'm stuck here unable to do anything?" I exclaim.

My chest rises and falls violently.

"Keep it down in there!" An officer yells from outside.

Acting like this won't help me get Erik back. I fall on my bed, I have to come up with a plan to get him out or at least see him.

Erik's P.O.V.
My head pounds with each thump of my heart. I groan as I try to remember what happened.

Suddenly it all comes flooding back. My eyes shoot open, "Kane!"

I try to jolt up but find myself slammed back down into the uncomfortable bed. Groaning again I lift up my head and see straps holding me down across my chest, wrists and ankles.

My eyes go wide as I look around the plain room. No windows, and one door that is probably locked. The only light comes from a dim lantern.

I have to figure out how to escape from here, I need to get back to Kane. She won't be able to sleep and I need to tell her something. Something I should have told her long ago, so that she could hold on to it through this.

Suddenly the door opens and a man walks in. "Aw you're awake Mr..." he trails off, looking down at the papers he holds, "Destler."

"I need to leave." I say as I struggle, trying to loosen the straps.

"That won't be happening anytime soon. You see Mr. Destler you have been deemed insane. France can't have insane people running around acting like ghosts and killing people." He says as he steps closer.

"There is nothing wrong with me, this all a mistake." I growl. I need to leave, now!

"No, I don't think there was. Let's have a little chat why don't we? You must answer every question with complete honesty or I will force answers out of you." The doctor threatens.

I don't reply. I just need to get out of here.

"Erik, that name you exclaimed before I came in, Kane, I do believe it was. Is that the name of the young girl you were in league with?" He asks.

Maybe if I go along with it, he will free me. That's all I need to escape.

"Yes, that's her name." I answer.

"What did you do to her?" He continues.

"What do you mean?" I ask, they can't assume that I would hurt her.

"Why did you kidnap her? Did you rape her?" He asks, taking several steps closer.

I gasp. "I would never! Besides she came with me in her own free will."

He looks down at me skeptically. "A girl her age should know better then that. Did you force her to love you?"

I shake my head, "No!"

"In her own free will then? I don't know how someone with a face like that could be loved." He sneers.

"Oh really?" I growl, and struggle against the restraints. "You just wait until I get out of here! I swear-"

SMACK!

I groan. Damn it all, he has one heck of a swing.

"You need to learn how to hold your tongue!" He snaps and walks out.

I have to get out of here.
