Tommy POV

Darkness clouded Tommy's vision as he squinted into the distance. Where was he? Why couldn't he see anything? He stumbled, nearly falling to the ground. His heart began to pound. "Hello?!"

"Tommy..." a voice echoed from behind him.

He whipped around, nearly bursting into tears at the sight of his mother. She was okay. He rushed forward, running into her outstretched arms. He expected it to be warm, comforting like it always was. But it was cold, a numb feeling he had never felt before. "Mother?"

"You left me Tommy..." her voice trailing off. She stared off into the distance, with no thoughts on her mind. "How could you do that?"

"I-I has no choice." he stammered, feeling his breathing begin to pick up. It really was his fault... wasn't it?

"It's all your fault Thomas... all your fault."

The queen began to walk towards him, a new look in her eye. It was a look of pure anger, something that Tommy had been lucky enough never to have seen. The prince staggered backwards, attempting to get away. But he couldn't move fast enough.

She came closer and closer as he breathed faster and faster. Her hands found their way to his throat, beginning to squeeze the life out of him. "Mother-" he shrieked, attempting to pull away. But she had a death grip. He could feel his lips beginning to turn blue. He struggled to pump air into his lungs, already feeling his consciousness slip away.

"Please-"

He gasped, sitting up in his bed. Sweat dripped down his neck as he studied the room around him. Closing his eyes, he took deep breaths, following Sam's voice in his head. In and out... In and out. One breath at a time.

When he opened his eyes again, the shaking had stopped. He was sitting in his temporary room, safe in the Sleepy Boys base. It had been nearly week and he couldn't help but settle in. The place was cozy and warm, more a home than Tommy had ever had before.

Phil had insisted that he share Wilbur's room, with him having the biggest one. Tommy had declined, knowing he would be fine on the floor. But Phil was not taking no for an answer. So that's how Tommy found himself staring at Wilbur's collection of guitars. It helped the blonde to calm down and focus on something else. It brought Tommy back to his own guitar... or what was left of it anyway.

He wondered how good Wilbur was. Tommy had been tempted to ask Wilbur to play for him, or even bring up the conversation of guitars. But he knew the brunette still wasn't used to him. He still grumbled and rolled his eyes every time he walked into his room and saw Tommy. The prince wondered if he would ever get used to him.

Not that he blamed him, after all he had intruded. But he couldn't help but wish for his friendship and loyalty. Even though he was sure he would never get it.

Tommy groaned, rubbing his eyes. He couldn't remember the last time he had gotten a good night's sleep. Shaking his head, he got to his feet. A wonderful smell traveled to his nose. A smell he had grown to love over the week. The smell of breakfast.

Ignoring the dark bags under his eyes, he left the room. Phil smiled warmly at him, already moving breakfast to the table. "It's about time you woke up." he teased.

Tommy grinned in response, not noticing the concerned look that the other two exchanged. He slid in the chair beside Techno. Phil placed a plate in front of each of them before sitting in the remaining seat.

The ate the eggs in silence, Tommy savoring each bite. He kept his eyes on his plate, avoiding everyone's stares.

Techno was the first one to speak, looking towards Phil. "I was planning to head into town tomorrow. Everything been too quiet lately."

"What do you suspect?" the man raised an eyebrow.

"Dream is planning something."

"What could he be planning?" Tommy questioned, unable to stop himself before the curiosity caught his tongue.

The three exchanged looks, like they weren't sure if they could answer. Phil paused, trying to find the right words. "Tommy..." he began.

The blonde shrunk back, knowing he had overstepped. He wasn't part of this group. He was just a lost prince, desperate for safety. They couldn't just tell him everything. "I-I'm sorry. I-" he pushed his chair back, escaping the room as quickly as he could. He disappeared behind Wilbur's door, finally allowing the tears to come crashing down.

He had been doing so well too.
