Tommy POV

The days seemed to get better after Tommy accepted their offer. He had never had something like this before. People who cared and loved him. People who would do anything to protect him. If this is what it meant to be part of a family, Tommy loved every minute of it.

His favorite thing by far, was listening to Wilbur play his guitar. The brunette would play all the time, attempting to hide the sweet sound of his music. Tommy couldn't help but hide around the corners, eager to listen to every note. He wanted nothing more than to build up his courage to walk up to Wilbur in those moments. But he still struggled with the idea.

Techno began to teach him fencing in their free time, making the blonde trust him more and more. The pinkette wanted to make sure Tommy could defend himself and the prince couldn't be more grateful for every lesson. Even through all the teasing and making fun of, there was encouragement too. And those were the moments Tommy cherished the most.

Even Phil took him under his wing, offering cooking lesson. Not that Tommy was any good at it, but it didn't hurt to try. Cooking was also fun. Making Phil laugh while causing chaos was one of Tommy's favorite things to do.

But all those moments came to a pause one night when Techno returned from one of his trips. This time, bearing news.

"How could Dream be so stupid?" Phil groaned, running a hand through his hair in frustration. The four of them sat around the table, their dishes pushed towards the middle of the table.

"He's selfish. Not stupid." Techno commented.

"It is possible to be both." Wilbur added.

"Well, what are we going to do?" Tommy asked, building up the courage to say something. After all, he was part of the family now. He was in for danger alongside the safety.

"We go in after them. Captured or not, they are still our allies. And we do have an agreement." Phil sighed, standing up triumphantly.

Techno and Wilbur followed, knowing their was no argument to be made. What Phil said was true and they had to uphold it. Tommy stood up, simply following the others. He watched as Techno paused, thinking for a moment.

"Maybe Tommy should stay here." he suggested.

"What no!" Tommy protested, hating the idea. He was part of the team now! They said so themselves. "I know the castle better than all of you! I have to come!"

The three of them exchanged looks, all sharing the same look of concern.

"I'm coming whether you like it or not." he crossed arms, planting his feet to the ground. He may not share their blood, but he sure did share their stubbornness.

Techno chuckled, shaking his head. His hand slipped into his pocket, revealing an object. He thought for a moment, looking at Tommy. "Well, then you'll need this." He reached out, handing Tommy a thin strip of metal.

Tommy glanced up, "Thanks..." Staring down at the metal, he didn't have a clue of what it was. Luckily, Techno picked up on that.

"It's a lockpick. All of us have one. It's the secret of success." he paused. "And it helps when we get separated."

"But this must be yours then. I can't take it!" Tommy tried to give it back, only for Techno to push his hand away.

"I'll be fine Toms. It's you I'm worried about." Techno smiled down at the boy, a look of fondness in his eyes.

Tommy stared into his amber eyes, a smile spreading on his face. Toms... His mother used to call him that. He shook his head, grinning from ear to ear. "We better get going then."

"I call the shots!" Phil reminded him, ruffling the boy's blonde hair.

The three of them got ready, heading out within the hour. Tommy couldn't help but be excited for his first adventure, even if it meant reliving a past he had hoped to leave be behind.

It was a worth it, as long as he was with his family.
