Tommy POV

Tommy gasped, waking up in a cold sweat. Tears dripped down his face as he remembered the nightmare. It had been the same one for nearly a week now. Filled with flashes of his mother among other pains. Each time he closed his eyes, it only seemed to get worse.

Every inch of his body trembled as he tried to regain control of his breathing. In and out... In and out... He was okay. It just a dream. But it wasn't, as much as he wanted it to be. It didn't change the situation he was trapped in.

The iron bars that surrounded him reached the ceiling, leaving no hope for escape. The stone floor was as cold as it looked. And it only killed his back more  and more every night. In and out... In and out. With one last deep breath, he allowed his body to relax.

Tommy curled up, leaning against one of the bars. He wasn't sure if his family would come back. It was probably too risky. Not that he could blame them. He wasn't sure if he deserved to ever run with them again. After all, he had been the cause of his own mother's death and the child.

Tommy didn't look until he heard a pair of footsteps coming towards him. Panic filled him at the sight of the king. The man stalked towards him, an unsurprising grin painted on his face. He seemed find joy in the prince's fear.

"Oh good, you're still here." he snickered, stopping right in front of his cell.

Tommy stood up, trying to hide his trembling hands. "Where else would I be?"

"I was afraid your 'friends' might have stopped by." the king began to pace back and forth. "Perhaps they finally realized how worthless you are. Even you must understand that you are not worthy of love."

Tommy gulped, shaking his head. He hated that a part of him feared it was true. "M-my real family will come for me." But even he wasn't sure of it. But it gave him enough hope to stand up to his father.

"I can't imagine why you believe that." he continued, choosing his words carefully. "They did leave you behind."

The words struck Tommy sharply. It was true. He bit his lip, searching for a witty response. "They had no choice." Thinking back to the days before, he knew it was his fault. He was the one who decided to separate. If he would have been smarter, he would have stayed by his family. Just like Wilbur told him to do. A lump formed in his throat at the thought of the older. Shaking his head, he asked, "Why did you come down here? I imagine you have better things to do."

The king smiled at the question. Obviously he had been waiting for it. "I came to inform you of your scheduled execution."

Tommy froze at the word. "E-execution?" he stuttered.

"The punishment for treason is execution."

"I-I'm your son!" the blonde exclaimed, jumping to his feet. Tears already threatened to fall. How could he be so emotionless? Tommy was his blood... shouldn't he love him?

"You're a traitor!" the king roared, finally showing some kind of an emotion. "Helping outlaws, disobeying orders. You are no son of mine."

Tommy's knees buckled beneath him, sending him to the floor. "Please Dad! You cant-t be serious! I-I'm just a kid."

Oliver looked him dead in the eye. "I know." Then he turned on his heel, disappearing into the shadows of the world above.

Leaving his son to the fate that awaited him.
