The restaurant was like a tavern. It was dimly lit. The sunlight wasn't even penetrating the glass of the windows. Paintings were hanging from the wall. It didn't matter to any of them. This was always the place for their meetings. Ironically, both of them were as shady as another. Nothing ever mattered to them because of the guilt that revolved around Rosie's mind. She loved Michael too much, which was why he was meeting Samuel.

"It's too difficult for me.", Rosie uttered.

"Can we tell Michael about this?", Samuel said.

" We can't tell him about this. I need to take Kaya into consideration. She's too young to understand all this. ", Rosie murmured sadly.

" So? What do you propose? What should we do? ", Samuel calmly asked.

" I'm stuck in a dilemma. On one hand, he needs to know about this; I can't live with this. On the other, it will devastate Kaya. The closure will ruin her childhood. ", Rosie said.

Samuel was calm but there was perplexity on his mind. He didn't know how to respond. He had to do what Rosie asked considering the sensitivity of the circumstances. He spent his childhood as an orphan and he knew what a world looks like without one's father.

" You do what you need to do, Rosie. I will always be there for you. ", Samuel said.

Tears rolled down Rosie's cheeks. It was unbearable for her.

" I can't do this to Michael. He wouldn't be able to handle it. We are all he has. ", Rosie was always a strong willed person but this moral dilemma was eroding her self respect.

" I don't deserve Michael. He is too good for me. Michael is a loving father and a great husband. But in all these, I feel secluded; I feel dead. He is a changed man now. ", Rosie said.

" Are you even listening to me? " Rosie said loudly.

Samuel was lost in thoughts. In all these, he was just considering the welfare of Kaya. He didn't want her to suffer because of this.

"Yes, I understand. " Samuel said softly.

"Then say something. ", Rosie was in constant need of validation because of her guilt and an unresponsive stance agitated her.

" What can I say in this? We should do what's good for you and your family. ", Samuel said.

The meeting was over by evening. They were heading out when they saw something they didn't expect. Someone was waiting for them on the streets.
