Chapter One: Stressed Out

You are sitting on the couch next to your roommate who you known for years. The two of you are watching an episode of a show together.

Y/N: Yeah I don't get it.

Your roommate and best friend Sal turns to you confused.

Sal: What do you not get?

In another book a skull stares up at the sky unamused.

Sally: Sal?... Really? That is just so lazy. All you did was take away 'ly' from my name.

In another another book a woman sits on a skull throne.

Sally: You couldn't have at least called me Saul?

Y/N: Well why are they fighting?

Sal sighs loudly.

Sal: Dean and Peter both love George.

Y/N: But George's species is polygamous by nature... There is no need to fight. Can't they all just love one another?

Sal sighs loudly again.

Sal: Yes but only one of them gets to be the first mate...

Y/N: Like a pirate?

Sal: Noooo... Being the first mate means whoever wins gets to bare George's eggs.

Y/N: This is a very weird show.

Sal: It is good though.

Y/N: Yeah... Well I gotta go to work.

Sal: We'll watch the finale another time then.

Y/N: Yeah... See you later.

Sal: Yeah bye.

You exit your shared apartment and walk through the streets. Along the way you notice a woman turn into an alleyway. Being curious you look into the alley only to see a man exiting. You no longer see the woman.

Y/N Mind: That alley is a dead end... Where could that woman have gone?... Oh well.

You make your way to the convenience store known as 'Elmo's' where you work.

(Timeskip - Half an hour later)

You walk in to be confronted by your boss Elmo. You've worked with him for a couple years now so you've warned his full trust.

Elmo: Hey Y/N... You are here early again. This is why you are my favourite employee.

You smile.

Y/N: Well I do like working here... It gives me something to do when I'm not hanging out with Sal and it also helps pay the bills.

Elmo: He still making you watch those weird shows?

Y/N: Yeah... Though I've managed to convince him to expand his list of genres since I was kinda getting tired of only watching romance shows.

Elmo: That's good to hear... Well we don't open for another hour so just chill with the others... I need to make a few calls so I'll be in my office if you need me.

Y/N: Sure thing.

You walk over to the counter where you see Rose and Daniel. Rose has worked here longer than you have where as Daniel has only worked for three months.

Daniel: Sup.

Daniel nods at you before returning to whatever it is he was doing.

Rose: Oh hey Y/N... How have you been?
