Chapter Nine: The Cure

In the office of Gary Radon, the man himself sits. He smiles knowing full well that he and his team at Sentinel Forces have finally developed a cure for the X gene.

Gary: At last no longer will people live in fear... No longer will people be discriminated against for being born unlucky.

Gary's smile vanishes once he noticed his brother, Tobias Radon has suddenly appeared. Tobias glares at the surprised Gary.

Gary: You're alive?!

Tobias: First you side with the very people you hate to kill me... Now you made a cure? A cure?!

Gary sighs.

Gary: I don't know how you are alive but... I have no regrets. People want to feel safe and I've realised Sentinels are not the way. They cause more harm than good. Mutants don't choose to become Mutants and some despise the abilities they have.

Gary reaches for a button under his desk.

Tobias: If they hate their gifts then they should hand them to me!

Gary: No... I told you before I will not let you build your Demon army... Even you are no Demon so why bother. You should strive for peace not war.

Tobias: I may not be a Demon but I am a true Mutant by birth. I offered to make you a Mutant but you rejected it... So there can be no peace between us.

Gary: I've met Mutants. I don't want to be miserable and cursed like them... I can cure you. Don't you want a simple life? A life out parents could have been proud of? What am I saying? Of course you don't. You've always been obsessed with power and destruction ever since you were a child.

Tobias forces a laugh.

Tobias: I hardly think killing the neighbourhood pets was power and destruction.

Suddenly two armed robots enter there room aiming at the back of Tobias.

Gary: Surrender... Or I'll make sure you stay dead this time.

Tobias: I'll never surrender.

Gary sighs again.

Gary: You are too far gone... F/N may have failed to kill you but I will not.

Tobias laughs mockingly.

Tobias: You may be my brother but you are still a powerless nobody. You don't stand a chance against me.

Gary: I may not be a Mutant nor Demon but I am far from powerless.

Tobias turns as bullets shred through him. Tobias shoots waves of sound from his hands which shatter the robots to pieces. He then turns to his brother. Gary pulls out a shotgun and blasts Tobias in the face. Tobias teleports beside his brother headless and slaps the gun away. Gary watches in horror as his brother's head slowly heals.

Gary quickly reaches for a pistol.

Tobias smirks.

Tobias: Guns? Really brother?

Gary: This is no ordinary gun... Inside each bullet is the cure. Even with your many abilities you'll lose them.

Tobias: You think I'm scared... I have limitless power! Not even Death has the balls to claim me.

Gary fires but Tobias teleports behind Gary.

Tobias clicks his fingers causing Gary's special pistol to turn into water. Gary stares in shock.

Tobias: You think I haven't collected more powers since my so called death?

Gary turns to his brother with hate. Tobias places his hand on his shoulder.
