I blew a lock of blond hair off of my forehead and zipped up my last suitcase. I just got a job as an Assistant --wait for it-- for the TREVELYAN-GREY family.
TREVELYAN-GREY.
TREVELYAN FUCKING GREY.
You can imagine my excitement.

My older sister, Eloise, was very jealous. A little too jealous but I didn't care. I wasn't gonna let her ruin this for me. I had started off as an Assistant for Grace in her office but she needed more help back home. I said yes before she could finish the offer.

I carried my suitcases downstairs and glanced at my outfit. I wore a pair of skinny jeans, a white shirt which made my black bra a bit easier to see but I didn't care. I was so ready for this. I pulled my hair up into a messy bun, slid on a thin, baby blue jacket and adjusted my converse, my toes slightly curling in my socks. I hug Eloise goodbye, pulling away before she can cry.

As if it was on cue, there was a knock on the door. I smiled wide and kissed my sister's forehead. "I'll call you once I get settled in, El. Don't miss me too much." I winked and she giggled. Eloise had always been scared to let me go.

You see-- I was adopted. Birth mother was a crack whore who wanted nothing to do with me. I got placed into an orphanage, lived with an abusive family, got sent back to the orphanage when I was 10 and then the Crystalis family adopted me. They fell in love with my shy, scrawny self. Now look at me; 21 and heading to work for a rich family.

I walked out to the limousine and smiled as Taylor took my suitcases. I slid into the back seat and put my earphones in, going into my spotify. Tapping on 'Shining bright.' It was a playlist for good times. This was one of them.
