Luna POV
TW: underage drinking mentions
I'd moved onto the young avengers floor shortly after I moved into the tower. I had a room next to America and on the other side was Yelena. We had a whole floor so sometimes people would put posters of things or reminders for the other kids. This time one was right outside my room, "night out/party night, don't tell the adults! It's 'library studying' if anyone asks!!" It read, obviously in Kate's handwriting. I chuckled before going into her room, to ask for more info about the party.
Pushing open the door I wasn't surprised to see most of the other young avengers in there too talking about the party. "Hey Luna what's up?" Kate asked before pointing to a seat I could sit in. "Just came to talk about the party. Who's coming where it's gonna be, all that" I said and got an answer from Peter. "Out of all of us the only who's not coming is Kamala because she can't have alcohol. It's gonna be at a small warehouse downtown. It's pretty small, just a few of my friends from school and some of Kate and America's friends". Alcohol? Why would there be alcohol? Everyone except Kate and Yelena can't have alcohol. The rest of us aren't 21.
I nodded and tried not to show my panic. Well I don't have to drink any alcohol do I? "Okay thanks guys. I've gotta go" I said quickly walking out again. Walking into Kamala's room I knocked on her open door. "Hey! Come in!" She smiled and I nodded, trying my best to put one on as well though I'm sure it came out weary. "What's wrong?" She asked and I sighed "well you know about the party. I just I don't wanna drink." "I get that. Overall I'm nervous about all of them drinking but I'm sure someone will be there to keep them safe. Plus I mean all teenagers fuck up at some point right?" She said, surprising me with her language. I'd learned pretty early on that Peter and Kamala rarely ever curse. "You don't have to drink, you don't even have to go if you don't want to. Maybe you and I could go hang out somewhere? I know a nice place if you want. A carnival" she told me and I nodded
"I'd like that K. What are the others gonna think though? You have a reason for not going, I don't" "simple, Carol wants to help you with your powers and you can't lie to adults." She came up with the lie and I smiled "thanks. I'll just tell whichever one asks if any of them ask" "good idea. Your not lying anymore than you have to." I smiled "you can just come to my room whenever time you want to go to the carnival" Kamala said as I walked out. I flopped down on my bed and Yelena walked in a few minutes later. "Your not coming to the party I take it? You don't wanna drink" she said through her Russian accent. "No. I'm hanging out with Kamala, maybe don't go telling the others though. If you need to tell them it's I'm having to work on my powers with Carol" I said, my accent coming out as well. That happened sometimes when I was around Yelena, Natasha, or Wanda.
Yelena nodded, giving me a reassuring smile before taking a swig of her beer "Jesus Lena it's 10 AM" I laughed and she also laughed. I guess not going to the party isn't so bad.
