(AKA How are you jealous?!)
An: I'm awesomeIt took an embarrassingly long amount of time for Stiles to open his locker. He half considered using his powers to open it out of sheer frustration, his hands were shaking from the disrespect Laura just gave him, and he could feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end with so many unknown things happening. There were so many questions that needed answering in his opinion that he just couldn't help but shake.
Derek had been giving him radio silence which probably meant they weren't on speaking terms. He wanted to say something, anything, to give him that chance, but those words that Laura just shot him with were the same words Derek used. It was a pack thing. Meanwhile, Derek's actual pack just had a lot of competition for their alphas attention. The fact that Derek had gone to Stiles for support had started to mean a lot more and Stiles regreted reacting the way he did. It was probably a lot of stress and anxiety being the alpha of not only a bunch of random teenagers, but now a huge chunk of his family.
He found out by his second class that Laura was a "transfer" student and it was pretty obvious a lot of money was exchanged to forget a couple of facts. One being that Laura Hale was dead and two, she had already taken all her classes to graduate. She had been just a couple years ahead of Derek when she died and Derek had only graduated a year ahead the rest of the pack. Thankfully, the new principal wasn't caught up on Beacon Hills history and neither were the students. Erica and Boyd were the only ones to actually talk to Stiles. Scott seemed embarrassed by what he had admitted, Isaac was pissed, and Jackson being distracted by Lydia flirting with one of the twins; Isaac seemed to be even more frustrated than even Jackson.
"Do you know anything about those guys?" He asked Erica.
"Derek knows something is up, but he hasn't told us yet. There's a meeting tomorrow night if you wanna crash. Of course, we all are going to Lydia's party after." She glanced over at the group, the other twin had grabbed his counterpart trying to pull him away from the two wolves about to rip him apart.
"What's his family like?"
"Talia is trying to keep us out of it," Boyd stated kinda angrily, "she says we are just kids and need our lives outside the supernatural, but we all agreed that we want to be informed. Derek..." his sentence trailed off and Stiles understood the dilemma. Who would he listen to? "Talia is sick and in pain, by the way."
"What? How?"
"They don't know, Deaton agreed to check her out," Erica looked at the settled fight between Isaac and Lydia. "No, we don't know who those guys are. But they smell like werewolves. So, be careful."
"I don't know what you could mean by that, as if I'd get-," Stiles started backing up towards his next class when he suddenly bumped into one of the twins. Stiles fell backwards but the twin caught the warlock in his surprisingly muscular arms, "involved." They shared a look for a couple of seconds before Stiles embarrassingly walked into his English class. Miss Blake was a surprisingly great teacher, she was pretty in Stiles' opinion, and she made him feel comfortable asking questions in her class. It felt like school was becoming normal again since just last semester when Gerard became the principal trying to get in between Allison and Scott.
Stiles felt his phone buzz in his pocket and slipped it out while Miss Blake was writing on the board. It was a text from one of his friends, Heather, and a party she was throwing tonight. He was invited and he could bring anyone he'd like. Heather wasn't one to talk much to him, she had a big crush on him way back in middle school, but Stiles told her he was more interested in Lydia Martin at the time and it broke her heart. Well, now a certain black haired, amazingly beautiful, alpha werewolf had his attention. Another wave of guilt washed over him like cold water.
Once lunch was over, he opened the big double doors only to be stopped in his tracks at the sight of the black Camaro. Miss Blake had a huge smile on her face and Derek was peering out towards her from the window. They were chatting as if they were best friends. Laura came billowing out of the school and scrunched up her face a little at the sight of the two. She found her way to Scott and Jackson who were talking about something in a low whisper out by the grass when the twins walked outside as well. Stiles seized the opportunity immediately, "hey!" The pair stopped and Stiles caught up with them.
"What's up," the one who caught him earlier stepped forward and it was as if the other one disappeared from the conversation. They were so in synch with what was happening it was like they saw it coming.
"There's a party tonight at my friend's place, do you maybe wanna come with me?" Stiles gave a toothy smile and the guy chuckled a bit. The forwardness paid off and Stiles didn't have to resort to other "means" of getting what he wanted. He pulled out his phone and gave it to Stiles to put his number in. He could feel the blush come up from his neck this time.
"I'm Ethan by the way," he winked at Stiles. Lydia had started her walk by and the other twin couldn't stop staring at her, "and that's Aiden," the banshee had met with the pair.
"I see you got an invite to Heather's party, too," she handed out a sticky note to the other twin, "looks like we are all going," she gave a mischievous smile to the twins and then nabbed Stiles away from them. Stiles saw a frown trying to creep its way onto Miss Blake's face, it looked like Derek had stopped talking to her momentarily. A smug feeling filled Stiles while he was being dragged away by Lydia.
"Where are we going?"
"To your car, we need to talk," They found themselves in the baby blue jeep and she took her time redoing part of her make-up.
"So? Is there a reason you are flirting with Aiden? Or why Laura was in today? Do you know what is happening?"
"I think," and she began to use some mascara very meticulously, "Isaac was out of line being angry with you. Talia asked me to flirt with the incoming wolves if given the opportunity... Revenge feels good sometimes," She moved onto her lips as if that string of sentences made sense.
"Talia knew they were coming already?"
"Yeah, she was told by Peter and he got a message from an incoming pack of wolves."
"What does that mean? Why is that a problem? Weren't there like a whole bunch of packs that were here at one point in time?"
"This isn't a normal pack, it's an alpha pack, a pack made up entirely of alphas. I only know because Isaac attacked Peter." She gave Stiles a hard look, "So, be very careful around those two, they are alphas."
"Why is there an alpha pack coming to Beacon Hills?"
"I don't know." They sat in silence for a while.
"I'm sorry that I didn't tell you. Or about how risky it was."
"Stiles, if I wanted to leave and refuse to do what we did, I would have just left with Isaac. You shouldn't have to feel the need to apologize. Yes, what you did was a little slimy," she turned her head to give him a sharp stare, "but not completely out of left field."
"So, you aren't mad at me? You're mad at Isaac? That doesn't really make me feel better."
"I'm not mad at Isaac, I was just asked to do an important job," Lydia hopped out of the jeep.
"I was told some advice last night," Stiles called after her, "you know you should give him the chance to talk." She gave him a smile before turning back around and leaving.
