"thanks for the food by the way." i thanked yuta as he drove me back to my house. "no problem na" i unbuckled my seatbelt, hopping out of the car and thanking him once more before walking to the front entrance. my phone buzzed, "nana🍓" appeared on my phone which confused me. i picked up.

"nana?" i answered as i walked into the apartment.
silence was on the other side which concerned me since jaemin always overreacted at the nickname "hello?" still no answer. faint mumbling was heard in the background, was something up with him? "im hanging up! call me when you know how to respond." i hung up rolling my eyes in habit weird. i took off my shoes and flopped on top of my couch. "i wonder what that was.. probably just a butt dial." i shrugged and opened my contacts, texting jaemin.

nana🍓

yk you butt called me right?
call me back when you see  this
miss you  jaem❤️

jaemin na, my one and only brothers best friend. of course he had his little friend group including 3 other people, jaemin was his guy.
we both grew up with jaemin and his family since for whatever reason they were always over our house. we always had these random gatherings. at my house or at a formal party, jaemin was there. still till this day i still don't know why those parties were held since my parents were never really the outgoing type.

another call.. strange. "hey nana? you good?" i asked still puzzled from the last call. "is your refrigerator running" not this again. i sighed "no. it's not, chenle."
"well you better go catch it!" then loud laugher echoed through the phone. "you're so annoying!" they always pulled this dumb shit with me, even when i still lived in nyc. "what are y'all up to?" i questioned, hearing the phone being snatched away. "my bad nana i didn't mean to call you the first time" jaemin spoke, nana was our nickname for each other. he sounded kind of off.

"what are you guys doing anyway, is jeno there?" i pressed at this unexpected phone call. "yup! i'm right here!" i smiled and replied with a hum, "we just got back from...."
"hello?" why did he go so quiet. "did y'all even do anything? or just hung out at chenles." i asked once again, maybe thatll help jaemin speak.

"y-yeah we played basketball too.. um anyway nana i'll call you back later, cool?" i nodded "cool. bye!" then he hung up.  wonder what that was about..

"mui! so you're telling me johnny and you are doing... bad?" i questioned, holding my screen over my face while on call with the girls. "yeah" she mumbled as she wiped her tears away off her face. the call fell silent, "we just had a argument and he brought up why couldn't i go live with my mom, knowing what happened!" she sobbed harder. all of us couldn't help but feel horrible.

"im not the one who thought of this! it was a mutual agreement between my dad and his and now it seems like the blame is all on me."
"that's it i'm coming to get you" nari paced around her room as the sound of car keys were heard. "please.."

"why did he bring up your mom?" eunji asked completely confused on the random topic. "my mom lives in california so if i were to go to my mom i wouldn't have to be stuck in this strange marriage.. but i have no idea where she is." she sighed again, placing her hand on her forehead completely stressed.

"why does johnny have to be such a dick about this situation though..." i mumbled, fixing myself in my bed. "im on my way now" it's like naris parent instincts kicked in. no questions about anything, she just got up and headed to muis location. of course nari already knew where mui was staying, it was with johnny.

"it just seems like he wants to blame everything on me like i asked to be married to him. i'm trying my best to get to know him and trying to be nice but he's putting in no effort and is a cold hearted bitch!" just hearing muis pain made all of us angry at johnnys little to no remorse about how mui was feeling."and now it's set like we're going to get married. not only for my dad but his parents too.."

"what a loser.." nari sucked on her teeth as she held back the rest of her thoughts, "i don't understand him. johnny was so... kind?" eun shook her head in disbelief at johnnys actions. "i mean why would he bring up something like that?.."

"he's stupid. he needs some time to think about how much he's acting like a fool." nari shook her head in disappointment almost making it to johnnys place "start coming out im pulling up" mui hummed back over the phone and grabbed her bags for the night.

muis point of view

i walked out of my bedroom with a bag on my shoulder to johnnys intense gaze on the door.. well now on me. i stood quietly, my eyes dancing across the room trying my best to avoid his eyes. "im leaving." i forced out. shit. my voice cracked. no words were spoken until my hand reached for the door knob."where?"
"i don't have to tell you anything, johnny." then i left.

i previously left the call just so i didn't embarrass myself or johnny. once i saw naris car i ran up and opened the door. she clicked out of facetime and unlocked her car doors. i got inside the passenger side, putting on my seatbelt. i couldn't hold it in anymore. ever since i was younger i've been known as the "crybaby" i grew up without a mother figure. growing up watching my friends and their parents live happily with their siblings and their perfect life.

johnnys words got to me. not only because he was supposed to be my future husband but because johnny grew up with the things i've always envied. a mom. i couldn't help but sob more on the way to naris place, everything was just so overwhelming. "thanks for being here for me nari... i really needed this"
