They didn't react at all. As if I were a ghost. I waved with my arms for good 20 minutes and was literally screaming "sunset curve". But it was as if they were deaf.

»Julie has an angelic voice,« Alex sighed, completely ignoring my hopeless arm waving.

»Right, such a shame she doesn't make use out of it,« Luke replied, making all three of them nod in sync, while starring blankly at the front.

After running from each one of them and waving like a maniac, I decided to simply give up. This was too much for my nerves and athletic abilities. I slumped on my favourite couch next to Alex, who, like the other two idiots, still hadn't taken notice of my presence.

Either they were pulling a prank on me or actually couldn't see me.

»We should persuade her to audition for that school club of hers,« Alex said, diverting his gaze to Luke. Reggie, surprisingly, also understood Alex's train of thought and gave Luke a look as well.

»Yeah, someone needs to talk to her,« Luke nodded, not taking notice of either of them.

I was eavesdropping the whole time, however, I could not make out a single thing of whatever these three idiots were babbling about.

First, who the hell is Julie? And what kind of school audition were they talking about?

Not to be that person, but I mean we also needed to take any chance that was sent to us. We could audition too!

Nevertheless, what bothered me the most in this moment was: Why the heck can they not see me?

»Where is Bobby?« I questioned, an attempt of seeing if they could hear me. But unfortunately, they couldn't.

I did not get an answer, however, they did continue their conversation and Luke ended up somehow being frustrated at the both of them. And that all because they decided that he should be the one persuading that Julie girl.

I closed my eyes for a second and just like puff, Luke vanished. Perplexed, I turned my head quickly, scanning the room of where Luke went.

»You know, I think I'm slowly getting used to this ghost thing,« Reggie uttered, smiling with his eyes before the smile could reach his lips.

Hang on a minute- Ghosts?! They were ghosts?

But if they were ghost and that Julie girl could see them, how come I was also a ghost, who could see other ghosts but not been seen by them?

Maybe Julie could also see me?

I dashed toward that door of the garage, stopping right there. If I were ghost then...

I stretched my arm out in front of me, just a few millimeters from the iron gate. And to my indignation, I felt a tickle in my arm that disappeared through the door.

Just then, all the memories of yesterday overwhelmed me. The red ferrari, the light, the pain. I had died.

I never thought that my words ›I would die for you guys‹ could come true.

Wow.

I rushed through the door. Not stopping at the staircase.

All of a sudden I was standing in front of the entrance to the house. This is certainly where Luke would be. Without thinking too much, I stepped through the door.

I followed the voices I heard and suddenly found myself in the kitchen.

»If getting back to music is what you want then you gotta go for it,« Luke whispered, moving closer to a girl I assumed to be the infamous Julie they were talking about.

»Learn from me,« his voice turned jokingly »your tainted hotdog could be right around the corner.«

How could he joke about that?!

Julie put down her untouched sandwich at his words and sighed. »I don't even have anything prepared.«

A mischievous smile painted on his face. »Thought you'd say that.«

I smiled unintentionally.

»It's called ›Bright‹,« he continued, making my smile immediately disappear.

I stepped closer to the kitchen counter and saw the sheet he showed Julie.

»It's a sunset curve song a friend and I wrote but never got to record.«

Nice to be titled as a "friend" I guess. Not even a band member, but a "friend". How delightful.

He then started chatting about how perfect of a song it was for her range and how she could use the piano to support her voice.

»♪ Your eyes, through the night ♪,« Luke started singing, his voice as enchanting as ever. »♪ You and I, We will fight to shine together. Right forever♪«

I want to kill a dead bitch.

»♪ And rise through the night ♪« Their voices blended into each other. »♪ You and I, we will shine together ♪«

»And go up high,« Luke interrupted, gesturing with his arms.

»♪ Bright forever ♪«

Their harmonisation was insane.

And that made me even more angry. It felt like sunset curve was replacing me. Like Luke was replacing me.

»Luke fucking Patterson!« My voice hollered in rage.

Both made a leap backwards, visibly frightened and surprised by my presence.

For a moment my anger vanished and suddenly I felt undisguised happiness in the pit of my stomach.
