Lex's Cocktail Recipes
B-52
Classic cocktail – tastes a bit like a caramel candy with a hint of orange flavor
Made in a shot glass
1/2 oz Kahlua (or other coffee-flavored liqueur)
1/2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream (or other whisky and cream liqueur)
1/2 oz Cointreau (or other orange-flavored liqueur)
Add the Kahlua to the shot glass. Hold a chilled spoon upside down over the glass and slowly pour the Bailey's into the glass over the back of the spoon. Repeat with the Cointreau to the top of the shot glass. Layered shots take practice (yay!), but look so much cooler than a straight-up shot. You could sip it, but most people just slam it.

The Black Swan
Lex Special – as Glory said, fresh and fruity and can get you fucked up; the vodka has almost no taste, of course, so the crème de cassis provides the blackcurrant kick.
Made in a shot glass
1 oz of Blavod black vodka
1/4 oz float of crème de cassis
Pour the vodka, float the crème de cassis on top, and toss back.

Cosmopolitan (or a Cosmo)
Classic cocktail – probably reached its pinnacle of popularity at the same time as "Sex & the City" did, but was before and still is a classic, easy to drink, and known by every bartender; tastes citrusy and fruity but looks sophisticated
Made in a martini glass
2 oz vodka (or Citron vodka for a more citrusy drink)
1/2 oz Cointreau (or other orange-flavored liqueur)
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz cranberry juice
Lemon twist for garnish
Combine first four ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake then strain liquid into the waiting martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist (a long, curly strip of lemon peel) hanging from the edge of the glass into the drink.

Electric Long Island Iced Tea
Classic cocktail – everything but the kitchen sink, and almost all hard liquor, so this one can mess you up fast; tastes like an alcoholic, citrusy cola
Made in a tall glass with ice
3/4 oz vodka
3/4 oz gin
3/4 oz white rum
3/4 oz tequila
1/2 oz triple sec (or other orange-flavored liqueur)
Cola
Orange slice & maraschino cherry on a toothpick OR lemon slice for garnish
Add all four of the liquors to the glass with ice. Fill almost to the top of the glass with cola (about 1/2 cup, but this depends on the size of your glass and how much mixer you like). Pour (or "float") the triple sec on top (or add it with the rest of the alcohol; it doesn't really matter). Garnish with the orange and cherry "flag" or a lemon slice and maybe a squeeze of lemon juice, whichever strikes your fancy.
