~2 months later~
It took me awhile to get over the emotional trauma that James had caused me. The nightmares plagued my mind for weeks with images of my parents death thrown in there for good measure. My birthday was uneventful on Amelia's part since, like predicted, she worked. Amelia gave me a beautiful charm bracelet with my initials engraved on a small charm shaped like a stack of books. I almost cried at the sentiment and hugged her before she had to leave. I spent the rest of my day with carlisle talking about his extraordinary life and all his friends from around the world. He told me about turning Edward and esme as well as how he came to meet Alice, jasper and Rosalie and how Emmett came into play too. I felt like I was reading a really good book and not living it myself. Over the past 2 months I've grown quite close to Bella and Alice and even made a new friend at school. Carlisle and I grew closer but I was still having a little trouble opening up about my past and was also bummed he couldn't take me to our upcoming school dance for obvious reasons. I reassured him that I didn't even want to go but Of course he fought me on it wanting me to experience highschool in all its glory before I graduate. I relented with a slight attitude and was even surprised the week before when my new friend Ian asked me, as friends or course, to go with him. I said yes because the thought of going alone sounded so cringe and awful. Bella was going with Edward (no surprise there) she was even more against going than I was. I couldn't help but laugh watching her complain to Edward during lunch trying to find a way he'd give in and let her stay home.
After school I rushed home as quick as I could to meet Amelia so she could help me get ready. Alice is coming by too after she's done helping Bella. I showered as soon as I got there and started blowdrying my hair before curling it loosely. My dress was a spaghetti strapped black dress that reached just above my knees with a dip in the front to show off my cleavage and reminded me of a night sky full of stars.
I paired it with some silver stud earrings and a matching necklace before slipping on my unopened box of open toed lace up platform heels.
Alice wasn't able to make it to help because, and I quote, she "had to take care of a few last minute details." I was stunned into silence when I finally looked in the mirror at the full ensemble. Amelia hugged me teary eyed for what felt like forever when a knock at the door saved me from the awkward affection. I opened the door with a bright smile that was returned by Ian's bright, green eyes and perfectly white smile. Amelia took a million pictures before we were finally able to escape into the night. As excited as I was I really wish Carlisle was able to come to the dance with me but that's 100% not possible without raising suspicion. The prom was themed Monte Carlo and had gambling tables, Roulette wheels, and beautiful fairy lights decorating the hall from head to toe. Ian stepped away to say hi to some friends and as I was standing there waiting I felt someone's presence behind me causing me to stiffen. "You look beautiful tonight, Ann." I gasped in surprise immediately recognizing carlisles comforting voice spinning around quickly stumbling in the process. Damn heels. "W - What are you doing here, Carlisle?!?" I looked around to see if anyone was looking our way and other than a few questioning glances nobody seemed concerned. His low chuckle brought my attention back to him. "Alice spoke to a few people and managed to get me in as a "chaperone" for the evening." The smile on my face brightened significantly. I need to remember to thank alice later. As if reading my mind Alice appeared next to me and whisper/yelled into my ear over the music "No need to thank me Ann, just enjoy yourself." Alice walked away to look for Jasper leaving me alone with carlisle. "You look so handsome tonight, carlisle. I cant seem to keep my eyes off of you" I hated that I had to keep a professional distance from him when all I wanted to do was kiss him. My eyes flickered down to his lips briefly and moved back up to his beautifully golden eyes. He was looking at me with the same intensity until an arm snaked around my waist bringing us out of our trance. "Hi, Dr. Cullen! I didn't know you'd be a chaperone tonight! It's great to see you, sir. Mind if I steal my date back?" Carlisles jaw clenched Jealousy flashing through his eyes momentarily but was gone before Ian could take notice. "Of course, don't let me keep you." He stepped back giving me a soft smile before turning around and heading in the opposite direction. Ian pulled me to the gambling tables and we played a few rounds but we quickly realized that neither of us were any good at this gambling thing. We shared a few laughs walking side by side out into the beautiful yard and stopped when we saw Bella and edward dancing under the gazebo. "Well there goes my plan for privacy." Ian looked at me sheepishly bringing his hand up to rub the back of his neck nervously. I did a quick scan of the yard settling on a bench not too far away. Grabbing Ian's arm I led him to it sitting with one leg crossed over the other. "It's such a beautiful night" I said with my eyes closed looking up to the sky embracing the fresh nighttime air. "Yes you certainly are." I opened my eyes stunned looking towards him confused. Before I had time to react he was leaning in for a kiss not giving me time to turn or pull away. His lips met mine briefly before someone clearing their throat caused him to pull away. My face instantly turned cherry red when I saw Carlisle appear in front of us giving Ian a displeased look. " Ian I believe your friends are looking for you inside. I think it's important." He chuckled nervously getting up. He grabbed my hand bringing it to his lips for a brief kiss. "I'll be right back beautiful. Dr. Cullen would you mind keeping my date company until I get back? I don't want her to be alone out here." Carlisle gave him a stiff nod turning towards me as Ian walked into the crowd of people inside. "Now, I'm not usually a violent person but I've never wanted to hit someone as much as I did in that moment." A bubbly laugh escaped my lips before I could catch myself. "I'm sorry love, I didn't expect him to do that. I didn't kiss him back I swear." Carlisle looked at me with affection clear in his eyes. He looked around us briefly before cupping my cheek with his hand and tilting my head toward him. "I trust you Ann. It's not your fault you have men groveling at your feet." I can't stop the smile on my face or the creeping heat that worked its way up my neck to my face. "But Ann if he kisses you again I wont be so kind. You're mine." Those words sent chills up my spine making me shiver which didn't go unnoticed. Carlisle grabbed my hand leading me to a secluded spot towards the back of the yard. Once we confirmed there was nobody around he brought his lips to mine and kissed me passionately, had he not had his arm wrapped around my waist I might of fallen. I brought my hands up circling them around his neck as he pulled my flush against his chest. Warmth started to spread through out my body settling in my lower stomach where electric tingles took their place. A soft moan left my lips when I felt carlisle suck my lip into his mouth nibbling it softly. We stepped away from each other leaving me feeling dazed and flushed. It took a second for my heart to stop racing but one look at him and it was racing all over again. "Come over tonight. Spend the night with me." I smiled so wide it hurt, I quickly nodded my head in agreement. "I'd love to." He placed a brief kiss on my forehead before walking back towards the dance. I went back to my spot on the bench and after a few moments Ian came out looking confused and irritated. "Where's Dr. Cullen? I found my friends but they had no idea what the hell I was talking about. They were never looking for me?" I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly trying to hold in my laugh. "He must of gotten it confused then."
The dance was over before I knew it and I was practically buzzing with excitment. I somehow managed to dodge Ian's advances for the rest of the night as smoothly as possible without hurting his feelings. I let Amelia know I was staying the night with "Alice" and to not wait up. I was full of nerves and very greatful I chose to wear my black lace lingerie set. You know, just in case *wink* *wink*. Carlisle was waiting for me after the dance looking like sex on legs if I'm being honest. How this man remained unclaimed for however many years he's been alive is beyond me.
I walked towards him trying to be sexy but I'm sure I looked like an idiot all the same."Hi, handsome. Fancy seeing you here." His smile was like nothing I could describe. Words can't express how perfect carlisle is and for some insane reason he wants ME. "Hello darling, are you ready to go home?" Home. That one word though so simple carried so much meaning. "You are home, Carlisle." I placed my hand in his as he opened the passenger side door for me helping me in.
The drive to the cullens was filled with sexual tension ... for me at least. As he drove his hand rested on my inner thigh. As innocent as the gesture may have been my whole body was on fire. I couldn't think. I think I died and went to heaven when he started rubbing circles on me, I don't even think he knows how affected I am just by his touch. 1 more month of school just 1 more and we can be together publicly. At least I think we can. We don't really have a plan or well ...... we haven't really discussed what comes after but no matter what happens as long as I have carlisle it won't matter.
