Her friends were dead.
The First Hunger Games were over, and the Second was quickly approaching.
The Victor spent most of her time reminiscing and remembering her friends and what they'd done, always shedding buckets of tears every time she thought of the young people who sacrificed themselves for her.
She was offered a choice. But she felt she had no other - she had to repay them. Or maybe it was to counter the small discouraging voice inside her - she really didn't know. But she made her choice.
Are you ready for another two weeks of torture for another Hunger Games, another unreasonable sacrifice?
