"Nidoran!" Arthur cried as he appeared on the battlefield.
'A Nidoran, so that's the next choice.' Brock thought, looking at the Nidoran on the other side of the battlefield.
"Alright, Cody, you can do this," Samantha cheered softly.
Cody nodded and smiled at Samantha.
"Arthur Double Kick!" Cody commanded.
"Nidoran!" Arthur cried out, running towards Onix at a fast speed.
"Onix bind that Nidoran!" Brock commended.
Onix let out a loud cry as it wrapped it massively and rock body binding tightly around Arthur.
"Arthur, break free using Double Kick!" Cody shouted.
Arthur turned around, determined, and lifted up his back feet, and it kicked onix in the face twice, knocking Onix back and freeing itself from the binding.
"You got determination, that for sure, but don't expect to beat me that easily," Brock said."Onix, shake it off and use Rock throw!" He commanded.
"Onix!" Onix cried out as a large rocks was tossed at Arthur, knocking him onto the ground in pain.
"Arthur, stay strong and go for another Double Kick!" Cody shouted.
"Nidoran!" Arthur cried out in determination getting off of the ground and running toward Onix and turned around and kicked Onix twice, sending Onix sliding back.
"On-Onix...." Onix cried out as it passed out from the Double Kick.
"Onix is unable to battle. The winner of the match Is Cody and Arthur!" The referee announced.
"Arthur, great job. Get some rest," Cody said, returning Nidoran inside his Pokeball.
"Onix, you return as well," Brock said, returning his Onix.
He then strapped the Pokeball on his belt. Samantha then rushed down the stairs to the seats and hugged him tightly.
"That was amazing. I was so close to believing you would lose," She said, smiling at her twin brother.
"I don't blame you. I didn't think Arthur would pull through at the end, even if Alvara's attacks weakened Onix," Cody said, hugging his sister back.
"Your Nidoran was close to losing after the Rock Throw, but he is just a lot like you determined," Brock said."His determination gave him the strength to get back up and land the finishing attack in the match. Though don't expect to get fall with just determination."
"Yes, I make sure not to just depend on determination alone and add more strategy to my battles," Cody said."You can expect a real challenge from my sister. She is more skilled than me."
"Wow, Mr. Hotshot, actually, not talking big and taking advice seems someone is growing from the Pokemon journey," Samatha said, laughing as she moved her arms away from her brother ending the hug.
"I guess traveling does that for you, helps you grow up, but it doesn't mean I'm not a hotshot still," Cody smirked."I will always be considered a hotshot."
"I know, Mr. Hotshot. Now it's my turn to battle," Samantha said.
"Onix needs a break, but Geodude should be about to handle another battle, and I have another Pokemon that should be able to feel in for Onix as my second Pokemon," Brock said."Before we begin, Cody here is your Boulder Badge," He said, giving Cody his badge.
"Thank you, and looking forward to seeing your match Sam," Cody said, giving Samantha a thumbs up as he walked on over towards the seat.
"I give you a match worthwhile, Mr.Hotshot, and love the compliment. You're better at that than cheering up people with words, but you got other methods for that," Samatha smiled.
"Alright, just like before, this will be a two on two battle, and the first to lose both Pokemon loses the match," Brock said.
"The two on two battle between Brock, the gym leader, and Samantha from Viridian City will begin. Only the challenger may switch Pokemon!" The referee announced as he signaled for the trainers to send out their first pokemon.
'Let's see which Pokemon she is going to start off with. She has two better choices than me.' Cody thought, sitting and waiting for his sister to send out her Pokemon.
"Geodude, let's go!" Brock called out as he tossed a pokeball and sent out his Geodude.
"Geodude," It cried out, ready for another battle.
"Alright, Anahita, I need your assistance!" Samatha said, sending out her Horsea.
"Horsea!" Anahita cried out as she came out of her Pokeball with eyes filled with fighting spirit.
"A water-type Pokemon is a reasonable choice, but let's see how well you have trained your Horsea," Brock commented, looking at the Horsea on the battlefield.
"I'll show you just how strong Anahita is, Brock," Samantha said with a smile on her face and confidence shining through her eyes.
'That's right, show him how strong you both truly are.' Cody thought with a nod waiting for one of them to make the first move.
"Good dude, use Rock Throw!" Brock ordered.
"Geodude!" Geodude cried out as it threw large rocks at Anahita.
"Anahita, counter with Ice Beam!" Samantha commanded.
"Horsea!" Anahita cried out as a beam of ice was fired from her mouth and freezing the incoming rocks that fell onto the platform breaking into little pieces.
'A counter with Ice Beam instead of dodging, not a bad move.' Cody thought, looking at the broken pieces of frozen rocks on the ground.
