Chapter 5: the first day of many

I woke up the next day to Holly screaming for me to get up or else I would have been late. I open my eyes to Holly exiting the dormitories into the common room. I get up and quickly get changed into my uniform. I run down to the common room to see that holly has been waiting for me. I hurry over to her as she says "Finally, come on we'll miss breakfast!"
"Ok then miss bossy-pants. Let's go get you food." I said laughing. With that we walked out of the common room towards the Great Hall where we met Katie, Beth and Adam before splitting up into our houses (Me and Holly=Hufflepuff, Katie and Beth=Ravenclaw and Adam=Gryffindor) for breakfast. I walk along the bench and then I am grabbed by a pair of hands.
"Listen, Olivia, about what happened on the train..." it was Cedric
"Ced, don't try to apologize, I know you like Cho but seriously leaving us for her especially after the things she said! But I forgive you. I forgave you when it happened; I guess it's just my nature right?" I said and escaped his grip and walked to where holly was sitting. As I sat down holly gave me a look as if to say "What the heck was that about?"
"Don't ask." I said answering her look and sitting down on the bench opposite her. I began putting a couple of pancakes on my plate and eating them.

Once I had finished I waited for professor sprout to hand me my timetable for the school year. It read:

"I have all the same classes as you!!!" Holly said.
"Well seen as though we picked the same lessons..." Said Katie from behind me
"Don't be a smarty pants! I know you're in Ravenclaw but that hurt. And you don't. We have Herbology first and you don't" I said laughing
"Who's the smarty pants now?" said Beth.
"Whatever, come on hol, Herbology. See you guys later!" I said whilst dragging Holly off towards the greenhouses

The rest of the week went without any event. I sit in my dorm room alone tonight, staring up at the top canopy of my yellow four poster bed. It's just after dinner and curfew isn't until nine o clock. I move slowly off my bed and put on one of my invisibility rings for the first time since second year. I shunk my guitar so that it would fit into my pocket and walk out of the dormitory and down to the willow tree by the black lake. I took off the ring and re-grew the guitar to normal size and began to play a song I wrote in first year.

i had always loved that song. i had just entered a new world, A world of magic and mystery. I didn't want to blow itand have to go back home or if i was to wake up and find it was alljust a dream. I have been coming down to the tree since my first year only without the cover of the invisibility ring. I finished singing the song with a final strum of my guitar and began to write a new song to describe how i feel around my friends.

I played the song through once and then I looked at my watch and saw that it was 8:45 and i had to get bck to my dorm room i bent down to pick up the invisibility ring and my eyes caught someone looking at me in the Dark Forest. I blinked and they were gone. I sighed and shunk my guitar back down to pocket size and slipped the ring on my hand and ran back up to my dorm room. i was walking up the stairs when i heard voices in the room. i quickly took off the ring and continued in to the room. "Hey, guys?" i said
"Where have you been?" asked holly
"I had a meeting with dumbledore." i lied
"Oh, okay then." Said holly swallowing my lie.
I bent down over my trunk putting my Shrunken guitar in the special compartment and took out my pyjama's i changed into them and then crawled into bed.
"G'night holly" i said
"Goodnight." she replied
and i fell asleep.
