-Steve's Perspective-

As I looked over at the mail stacking up, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. I was supposed to be a hero. The one that has nothing wrong with their lives. But I couldn't even manage to make my rent.

For a rickety apartment that barely had room for one, it was ridiculous that rent was so high. I knew what I had to do...but it wouldn't be easy.

First issue: Finding an area to change so that my roommate doesn't figure out I'm a vigilante. I mean there is a fire escape that I could easily use. However, I'd have to make sure that absolutely no one was just hanging out on their fire escapes like a balcony. Another option would be to sneak into the bathroom window, but it was super small. At the given moment, that was the best solution. It may give me bruises crawling in, but it would keep my face a secret.

Second issue: Finding someone who's expectations of an apartment are terribly low. They'd share a room with me and only be allowed a twin sized bed due to the spacial limitations. They would have a restroom that you basically have to squeeze through in order to use anything. That and the kitchen isn't exactly the place for gourmet cooking.

Third issue: Probably the most important issue. I have to like them. I have to share a room with them whenever they aren't at work. And not even a big room. If we got into a fight, there'd be nowhere to run off to.

However, that third issue is unavoidable. I tried to get the people who do know my identity to try and move in but it was a hard no for them. Robin insisted that she couldn't deal with me for longer than our current work shift together, and Dustin was still in high school so his mom gave it a hard no.

It would have to be someone completely random. Someone I've probably never met before. New York City was huge and filled with weirdos...let's just hope that I'm lucky enough to not get a weirdo.

I let out a long sigh before hitting submit. It was ridiculous that I had so much fear on a possible roommate. I mean for goodness sake...I'm Spiderman! I've dealt with way worse in the past. I've gotten almost beat to a pulp on nearly a daily basis! I-

  Badink!

I quickly drew my attention back onto the laptop in front of me. Someone put that they're interested in checking the place out today if I was available. Someone with the username... MasterofPuppets?

I shook my head lightly before responding as quickly as I could to the inquiry.

WebtasticPhotographer: I don't have anything going on if you want to head over and check it out. Please give a time range so I can have everything ready for you.

MasterofPuppets: Fair enough. I'll be by around 5 pm. I hope that's alright.

WebtasticPhotographer: More than alright! Looking forward to meeting you in person.

  MasterofPuppets: Likewise, Mr. Photographer.

I felt my heart drop at that statement. How did he know that...I didn't te- oh. My username. Don't be an idiot, Steve. No one's stalking little ol' Steve Harrington.

I sighed before looking over at the time. 3:45. I had an hour and fifteen minutes to get everything prepared.

It wasn't a huge apartment. I could probably clean it in thirty. It's just a matter of motivation. I'm a relatively clean person in my opinion, so it wasn't a lot. Just a few stray mugs on the night stand.

I quickly washed the tea out of them. When I looked back over at the time, it was only 4:20. I lightly chuckled to myself like a child at the numbers. There's still...a hot minute until Puppet dude shows up. God I hope he isn't into puppets...
