I slowly opened my eyes from might I say a horrible sleep. I reached my arm out expecting to feel the cold wood from the table that sits next to bed but, Instead I felt cold stone and dirt. I jolted up and swiftly looked around to find that I was indeed still in this cave, my father and my home is gone, I'm stuck on this island, and to top it all off I was leaning on a type of Night furry and I slept on it all night.
Midnight then opened her eyes and she looked quite annoyed. She looked straight at me with slits in her eyes.
Guess I woke her up oh boy. .
I swallowed hard afraid of what might happen. Midnight then made a snarling sound and got up and streched, pushing me off of her. I fell backwards and the dragon seemed to almost laugh at me.
I pouted as Midnight walked passed me towards the exit of the cave.
"H-hey! Where are u going?" I yelled as I got up and followed the beast.
I followed close behind Midnight as we walked through the thick forest. It was pretty early so there was a cool breeze and the forest was very lively in the Day unlike the Night.
I then stopped because my stomach then growled making me relise how hungry I was. Midnight made a high pitched Shriek catching my attention. She had stopped and it almost seemed like she was making sure I was following. I ran up to her and she began walking forward once again.
She wasn't waitong for me was she? No, no of course not Dragons don't have that kind of intelligence right? And even if they did why would she wait for me?
Midnight then pushed through some bushes leading us to this huge pond with a water fall! It was honestly beautiful. There was a few smaller dragons here too like terrible terrors and a few sheep that didn't seem bothered at all.
Midnight continued walking towards the pond and began drinking the water.
I am thirsty. .
I walked up to the pond next to Midnight and cupped my hands into a bowl form and took a sip. To my surprise it didn't taste like dirt. As I was going to take another drink I saw my reflection in the water.
Scars. .
Scars had covered my face and some on my arm. They were burn marks. I guess I didn't notice them before.
I reached my hand up to the biggest burn mark on my right eye. I touched it and it stung a little. The reflection in the water broke as fish swam in the water.
Midnight question snatched at least three fish out of the water with her mouth and one with her claw's.
I should make a fire before I starve.
I collectee the necessary things for a fire once more and just like before struggled to light it. Midnight saw them and blasted the fire causing it to light up. I quickly jumped back before getting burned(again) and looked at midnight.
"Hey!" I yelled and she looked at me un-impressed.
At least I have a fire now.
I walked over to the pond again and looked at the fish in the water. I attempted to grab one but, I missed and fell in. Midnight laughed and I glared at her.
I got out of the water completely soaked and prepared to try again.
"Ok. Let's try this again!" I quickly tried to grab another fish which I successfully did! But, it slipped out of my hand and hit my face.
"UHG!" I yelled in frustration as Midnight toppled over laughing.
I walked over to her and collected as much water as I could from my clothes, hair, face, whatever I could get and flicked it at her face. She looked at me un-impressed before she picked me up from the back of my shirt with her mouth and threw me in the pond.
"Hey! That's not fair!" I yelled as the Dragon laughed once more casying me to break out laughing as well.
-------------------------------------------
Some time has passed and me and Midnight we're sitting by the fire as I roasted some fish we caught. After Midnight and me had our battle in the water which I proudly won! She caught the fish and I began roasting them. We found out that Midnight like the fish best when it's roasted on the outside but still raw on the inside, after we found this out she kept getting more fish for me to cook. It was quite cute actually.
"You sure do love food huh?" I asked the Dragon.
She cooed in response and went back to eating her pile of roasted fish.
After she ate her last one she got up and started heading back into the direction we came from.
She must be heading back to the cave.
I was right too after we walked through the forest for a while we mwde it back to the cave. I took one goid look at the cave and made a decision.
"We need to make this place more like a home huh girl?" I asked the Dragon but, it was more of me telling her.
So I got to work. I had spent the rest of the day collecting wool from sheep, collecting wood and logs for furniture, and began building things. It wasn't much but now I had a nice wool sleeping bag so I can stay warm and I even made a wool bed for Midnight just in case if she wanted something softer to lay on. I just hope she doesn't set it on fire. .
Besides beds I made a table for me to eat at or continue to build things, I made a designated cooking spot, and well that's about it I'm not the most crafty person ever but, I do know how to build a lot my uh. . Dad taught me how.
I wonder how late it's gotten?
I looker out of the entrance of the cave and it was pretty dark out.
Shit I guess it took longer to make all this stuff than I thought.
I took one last look at the things I had built before I curled up into bed.
A New Home. .
