Dear Son,
I received your letter the other day and frankly I am devastated with the news of Sullivan's death. Despite what you and your brothers may think about the situation regarding Sully and his behavior's, know that what your father may have said in anger in these countless years, know that it isn't true. Your father and I loved Sully dearly and for him to think that we didn't love or cared about his life hurts us deeply. We just wanted what was best for all of you and that includes your baby brother Sullivan. I am looking forward to meeting Sully's widow and my two new grandsons and I wish I could be there to attend your wedding but sadly that isn't to be at this very moment. I too have some distressing news and I am sorry that this news may shatter your happiness but you should know that your father suffered a heart attack and sadly passed away three nights ago. I'm sorry for being the bearer of bad news but it had to be said.
Since there is no longer any reason for me to stay here in Virginia, I would like to live closer to my two remaining boys and your families, could possibly look for a small house for me and my maid and the family cook to live with me, as I cannot do anything on my own anymore and I have been with them for many years.
Once the funeral services are completed, I and the rest of my household will purchase train tickets and join you in Bannock Montana.
Love Mother.Byron.
Today is my wedding my beautiful bride. I'm so nervous but I'm also very happy, I get to be a husband and a father. I also found out that I'm an uncle - to the two most identical and rambunctious twins that look identical to and act exactly like my baby brother
Sullivan.
I must have been caught up in my own thoughts, because out of the blue - I heard the pastor clear his throat. I looked up and stared at the beautiful violet eyes of my blushing Bride, and smiled. And noticed the silence in the room, quietly apologizing for my mistake, I quickly listened to the pastor repeat himself when he said the wedding vows.
" Repeat after me," he said. "I, Byron Paisley, take thee, Lillian Pearson, to be my wedded wife. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith."
"Very good, he said. Now for the bride, repeat after me, "I, Lilian Pearson, take thee, Byron Paisley, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to God's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith."Everyone applauded, and we both blushed. Then we still decide and waited for the other two couples to marry. Which included Landon my brother who was marrying the local doctor, Dr Quinn Colt. And then there was also Jonathan Dodd and Angela Colt. What a busy day it would be for the Reverend. And even though there were three couples to marry it wasn't a very long ceremony as you would expect it to be. Each couple had their own colors for the theme of their wedding. Mine and Lillian's was pre-dawn purple, Landon and Quinn's colors were evening Orange and Jonathan and Angela's was baby Blue. Each bride were really beautiful, and that's coming from my perspective as a man. Everyone seem to be happy now that the turmoil has passed, the criminals were sent to prison, the funeral has passed and new memories have begun to surface. Things were getting back to normal here in Bannock Montana. And even though, everyone said that the new Mrs. Angela Dodd looked like an angel - I would say that my bride Lillian Paisley was actually "My Angel."
The End.
