People keep thinking that Victor from Corpse Bride is the same from Frankenweenie.

But I think CB Victor is FW's grandfather or Great-Grandfather.

Maybe after the entirety of the CB movie, Victor now has some spiritual connection with the dead?
Hence why his (great) grandson was smart enough to figure out how to bring back the dead at such a young age.

And CB seems to take place maybe in the mid to late 1800s, where as FW looks like it's from the 1940s or 50s. So CB Victor would be an older man at this point, NOT a child.

And (though yes, it's common for Tim Burton's style) FW Victor's mom looks a bit like Victoria from CB. You could argue that his father looks like CB Victor (again, it was a common style), BUT in this time, it was more normal to take the male's last name in marriage, I'm pretty sure. So the mom from FW was a Frankenstein after marrying her husband. 
And it's not out of the ordinary for a kid o look like a grandparent and/or be named after them.

So considering the timelines, and what can be connected, I think CB and FW are still connected in worlds, the main characters are not the same person, but are related.
