"Wake up. You have school today," my mom said while throwing a pillow in my face.

"I know that's why I'm still sleep," I said while rolling over and putting the cover over my face.

"Ax get up!" She said while pulling the cover back and leaving the room.

After I got ready for school, I went downstairs to eat something. "You don't have time for that. School starts in ten minutes," she said while handing me a breakfast sandwich, my keys, and pushing me out the door all at once.

"Thanks," I mumbled while getting in my car and driving away. When I got to school I saw Megan. My best friend who is clearly in love with me. She's great and all but not really my type. "Hey Meg," I said as she met me at the door.

"Hey Ax," she said sadly.

"What's wrong?" I asked confused. Usually she's all happy and cool.

"My mom kicked me out again. She thinks I'm hitting on her boyfriend. Last night he tried to kiss me and she caught him. Since he said I made a move on him and she believed it, she kicked me out," she said as we continued to walk to my locker.

"Hey," I said grabbing her arm to stop her from walking. "You can stay with me. Don't worry about her boyfriend either. I'll take care of it," I said seriously.

"Thank you," she said while hugging me. Before she let go, she kissed me on the cheek.

"No problem," I said trying not to freak out. I don't want to give her the wrong message.

"I'll see you later," she said while heading to class. When I got to my class and sat down, a guy came in with a pass. Usually passes are never for me but today was different.

When I got inside the counselors office, there was the counselor along with a guy dressed in all black. He looked to be in his thirties. "Hello Axel. There is someone who would like to meet you," the counselor said referring to the man in all black.

"Hi. I'm Chris," he said kindly. Suddenly all the memories of my fathers death came flooding back to me.

"You knew my father?" I asked angrily while sitting down.

"Sam was my best friend," he said sadly.

"Bullshit! You almost killed him and then let him die!" I yelled getting out my seat.

"Sit down!" The counselor yelled.

"No. Let him get angry," Chris said calmly.

This made me sit down and calm down. I'm not going to let him see me angry. I don't want to kill him just yet.

"I want you to work for us," Chris said suddenly.

"Why would I work for a man who killed my father?" I asked bitterly.

"Because I didn't kill him. My boss did. If you work for us, you will get to see why we killed your father."

"How do I know this isn't a set up?" I asked suspiciously.

"Meet me at this address at seven to find out," he said handing me a card. After I took it, I stood up to leave. Before I left Chris said one last thing. "Oh, and don't say any of this to your mother. We don't want her finding out."
