And then there was Taiye, looking at her, quite agitated. She stared at him who still had his fist halfway in the air, looking just ready to year down her mahogany door at the moment. He stared at her momentarily surprised, with his heart racing and bothered. His face was coated with worry while his eyes were integumented fear. He reached out and grabbed her in alarm, inspecting every inch of her before embracing her tightly in relief.

'Taiye?'

'Christ you scared me! I have been knocking for a long time,' he exhaled hugging her tighter.

'I was only asleep you worrywart,' she told him. Although, his worry was strongly justified, especially after last week's incident.

'Oh Good God Sei, are you alright? Are you?' he asked her still not making any attempt to release her.

'Yes, yes I am,' she said enjoying the hug. Taiye knew how to give warm hugs and she really needed one after that haunting nightmare.

'Thank God you are. You had me all worried and nearly hypertensive.'

'Sounds more like a cardiac arrest Taiye,' she joked. He groaned with a chuckle.

'You could be the death of me everything ebony,' he said releasing her and stepping back a bit.

'I'm not in danger now, am I?' she questioned him although she knew why he was worried.

'You tell me,' he said, his voice quickly become nonchalant. 'Is it when I came to your house last week and discovered you lying lifeless surrounded by thousands of sleeping pills? Is it when I had to run with you to the health care centre looking like a mad fool? Or is it when the doctor told me you abused sedatives and that you could have died? Tell me Seiyafa, tell me quickly.' He smirked as she smiled softly.

'I'm sorry. I already told you that a million times bestie and I am still willing to go on,' she said taking his palm. 'I told you already it was a stupid act, a complete mistake-'

'-and over a jerk like him at that,' he interrupted her, referring to her ex boyfriend, Ron. The one who made her wish to end it all with one final slumber. Truthfully speaking, maybe he did not deserve it, her, her love, everything.

'I'm sorry na,' she pleaded. 'Forgive this your foolish girl.' He was sulking, still quite offended by having to watch her in the hospital, panicky.

'You are not foolish Sei. We all do foolish things for love. It's in the human nature. Besides me that is scolding you I am not any better. I still think of Monica. Apart from the reason that I came here to check up on you lest you try something stupid again when you are depressed, I also came to vent to you about her,' he confessed looking elsewhere, embarrassed at admitting it.

'Come off it and come inside,' she said with a teasing smile. 'We all do foolish things for love like someone said.'

'Oh get out!' he said jocosely, going in after her. He shut the door behind him, the one he had broken down last week and nearly broken down again just minutes ago.

'I was having a nightmare about Ron,' she said as they stepped into the living room. 'You woke me from it,' she added.

'I'm very glad I did,' he drawled with a snort. It was no secret that he hated Ron ever since before their rough breakup.

'Must you be so obvious? I loved him too like you did Monica. I still love him now and same goes for you,' she said. 'Therefore don't you dare be a prick and say anything nasty about him,' she warned.

'I wasn't about to,' he said with a shrug. 'He isn't worth my precious spittle.'

'That whole sentence is an insult mind you,' she pointed out to him. He smirked and then made a mock surprise expression at her.

'Is it? I didn't realize,' he finished with a lazy grin, the type that always got on her nerves. He didn't see her coming, only felt himself falling into the sofa and her straddling him. Something hit him repeatedly and he realized that she was whipping him with one of the throw pillows.

'You insensitive arrogant jerk! Mindless, mannerless, loose mouthed prick! Egoistic punk!' she cursed at him. And when she was done venting, she stopped, breathing heavily.

'There, there, easy,' he said with a smile. 'Do you feel better after venting? There's no use keeping anger all pent up. Let it fall out. Do, do you feel better?' he asked again. She nodded and then both of them burst into laughter.
