It was a few months after the Sally incident. I had noticed that Mama had been getting bigger and getting sick a lot. I thought she was just getting fat, I was so stupid for thinking that.
"Mama, you're getting fat." I said truthfully to her one day.
Instead of getting mad at me, Mama burst out laughing and tears started running down her face. I looked at her in confusion and her laughing dimmed down.
"I guess I should tell you, now that it's almost time." Mama said seriously.
"Are putting me up for adoption?" I asked trying not to cry.
"Oh my goodness! Of course not! We would never do that, sweetheart." Mama said reassuringly.
"Oh good." I said, sighing in relief.
"But there is something happening, that will change our lives." Mama said.
"But... I don't want our lives to change!" I said trying not to cry again.
"It's a good change though." Mama said, trying to cheer me up.
"Okay...what is it?" I ask trying not to look upset.
"Well...honey, you're okay to have a little brother!!" Mama squealed.
"Ummmm...what are you talking about??" I asked, now panicking.
"I'm pregnant and it's a little boy." Mama said smiling.
I completely shut down. I just stood there and stared at her. A thousand thoughts were racing through my mind.
What if they forgot about me? What if they put me up for adoption? What if they didn't love me anymore? I stopped breathing.
I heard my mother yelling something, but I couldn't understand it. Everything sounded muffled. I saw my father run into the room with a phone in his hand. My chest hurt so much, but every time I tried to take a breath I couldn't. My vision slowly started to go black. I could feel tears on my face and then nothing.
"I don't know what happened." I heard Mama say.
She sounded like she was crying.
"Is there anything that you said that would cause her to panic?" An unfamiliar voice asked.
"No! I only told her that I'm pregnant."
"Mrs. Sill, you probably set off a panic attack. A lot of children become afraid once they find out that there is going to be an addition to the family because they don't want to be forgotten." The unfamiliar voice said.
"I'm going to set an appointment with a therapist about her panic attack, alright?"
"Alright." Mama replied to the voice.
I heard someone walking away and then someone walking toward me.
"What did the nurse say?" Asked Daddy.
"They said it was a panic attack and that it was my fault." Mamma cried.
There was silence and then Daddy's anger voice.
"They what?! Why the hell would they say that" Daddy shouted.
"I'm going to give them a piece of my mind!"
I heard a chair scraping against the floor.
"Wait!" Mama yelled.
The footsteps stopped.
"They didn't exactly say it but they said that me telling her that I was pregnant set it off." Mama mumbled.
"Why would that set off a panic attack?" Daddy asked confused.
"I'm not sure. I thought she would be happy. Apparently she's scared of being forgotten."
I decided it was time to pretend to wake up. I groaned and yawned.
"Honey! You're awake!" Mama stated.
"Way to state the obvious." I remarked sarcastic.
"Honey!" Daddy said in surprise.
"Sorry, I'm just stressed."
"See it wasn't my fault!!" Mama yelled with glee.
"She was stressed which caused her to panic. We don't need to visit a shrink!"
I looked at her in confusion but didn't say a word.
"Let me get a nurse and see if you can leave." Daddy said walking out.
Before we left my parents had a huge argument with the nurse over me seeing a therapist. My parents won.
"Those nurses are idiots." Daddy muttered.
When we got home I went straight to my room and started to plan. I had to get rid of that monster growing in Mama. I could wait for the birth and when holding it I could "accidentally" drop it, but the baby might kill Mama in labour. So that was out of the question. I could but a bunch of drugs in Mama to kill it but that may kill her too.
I had to find a way to keep her from dying as well. I had to think fast. Her due date was in two months. I had to think fast!
I smacked my head off the desk in frustration. Why the hell couldn't I think of anything?!
"Maybe because you don't want to kill your brother." A voice said.
I whipped my head around and saw Elena standing behind me.
"I haven't seen you in awhile." I said coldly.
"That's because the last time we saw each other, you said you didn't want to see me again." Elena said.
"Well friends don't give up on others"
"Well friends don't kill their friends." Elena said, sticking her tongue at me.
"What do you want Elena?" I said sighing.
"I was going to help you think of a way to kill that demon growing in your mother but if you don't want my help that's fine." She turned away, slowly leaving.
"No! Please help me!" I yelled.
She turned around with a smile.
"It's simple. Cut the baby out of your mother with a scalpel and make sure both your parents are knocked out. Sew your mother back up and kill the baby. Then put the baby where it would be if she had just given birth. She'll think she went into labour without realizing it and the baby died." Elena said with a smirk.
"Your an idiot." I said bluntly.
"What?"
"You're an idiot!!" I yelled.
"Honey!! Is everything alright? Who are you talking to?" Daddy yelled.
I could hear him walking up the stairs. With each step he took the steps of the stairs would creek. I know I had to come up with an excuse of why I was talking. I grabbed my remote and turned on the tv. A horror movie came on.
Daddy opened the door and walked in.
"Who were you talking to?" He said.
He slowly looked around my room and he noticed my window was open. He walked over and peeked outside.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked with a scowl on my face.
"Young lady!!" Daddy said with surprise.
"What?!"
"Do not take that tone with me and don't swear at me!" He said, he's voice rising.
"God, what the fuck is your problem." I muttered.
"You're grounded." He said blankly.
"What? What the hell did I do?"
"You're sassing me!"
"Yeah, cause I'm mad that you don't trust me." I yelled.
"I trust you just fine." He lied.
"Liar! You checked outside to see if you could find a boy! I was just watching a horror movie and called one of the characters an idiot!" I screamed at him.
He looked at me with anger.
"You need to chose your next words carefully."
Instead I dug in my draw looking for something.
"What the heck are you doing?" He yelled.
I finally found a rag, but I needed one more thing.
"Lucy Sill! Tell me what you're doing, right now!"
I found the last thing, chloroform. I poured it on the rag and my father finally clues in.
"Lucy...is that chloroform?"
"Yes it is." I smiled.
I grabbed a baseball bat and threw myself at him. I put the rag to his face and waited. He fought to get lose, so I hit him with the baseball bat on the head. Instantly blood appeared, beautiful blood. I giggled and started to swirl the blood around, while he gazed at me with horror in his eyes. Finally the chloroform worked.
I dug under my bed to find my collection. My collection was in a hand crafted box that I stole from Sally. The box was beautiful, it had swirls, hearts and stars carved into it.
My collection was very special to me, it had many things inside. Those things included knifes, vials of blood, thread, sewing needles, doctor's needles, morphine and a scalpel. I took the morphine, the scalpel and the needles out of the box. I returned the my collection to its rightful place and walked to the bathroom to wash my hands.
I intensely stared at myself in the mirror, is this really what I've become? I was willing to take the chance that my mother may die during this procedure, just to have her to myself... I kept staring at my self.
I suddenly took the scalpel I had with me and cut myself in the leg.
"This is what you get for trying to back down! If I can't have her nobody can!" I screamed at myself.
I stormed to her room and opened the door with a bang. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me lazily.
"Honey?" She asked.
"It's okay Mama, everything's fine." I cooed at her, while putting her to sleep.
She slowly drifted to sleep, not doing anything because of her fatigue. I walked back to my room and tied Daddy up to a chair with rope. I didn't want him interrupting the procedure. I was already putting Mama's life at risk. I couldn't have him bring the cause of her death. While I was in my room, I got my box out and grabbed sewing supplies. Mama had to be sewn up afterwards.
I walked back to her room grinning. I would get them all to myself after that thing is out of Mama!
As I walked back to Mama's room this little voice was screaming in my head, telling me to stop and this whole thing was insane. I made one my biggest mistakes by ignoring the voice.
"Oh Mama...why'd you need someone else in your life? You have Daddy and I!"
I gave her a smile and cut into her uterus with the scalpel. Blood sprayed in my face as I cut into her, but I didn't mind. Out this horrible situation the silver lining was the chance to see blood.
I kept cutting until I had and opening to reach in and grab the baby. Once I had the opening I roughly grabbed the baby. I cut the umbilical cord off and laid the baby on the ground.
I quickly got to work on sewing Mama back up. I threaded a needle and started stitching get back up. After I was done I started to hear a thump and it wouldn't stop. I didn't understand what the noise was but when I realized what the sound was I stopped cold. It was Daddy trying to escape.
I wasn't stupid so I didn't go check on him, just in case it was a trap. I knew I had to work quickly in killing the disgusting creature in the floor but I wanted to kill the creature as painfully as possible. My first plan was to bleed it out but that would take too long.
I heard the door break off its hinges and I froze. I heard Daddy screaming at me to stop whatever I was planning on doing and he sounded so broken. I almost did stop.
I could let the baby live, and we could live happily ever after. I cut my face with the scalpel, stopping that thought.
"There's no such thing as happily ever after!" I screamed as I stomped on the baby's head.
The baby's skull was crushed in and the baby instantly died. That was when my dad crashed through the door. He was still tied to his chair but he got his legs out.
He got a look of the baby and stared ate in horror. His eyes filled with tears and he sat back on he's chair.
"Lucy...what the hell are you?" Daddy asked looking at me as if I were a monster.
"I'm your daughter!" I said with a smile.
"You're a silly goose, Daddy!"
"Don't call me Daddy."
"What?" I asked in confusion.
"I'm not your dad. I'm Lucy's dad, but my Lucy's gone."
"But I'm right here..." I whispered.
"No, you're a monster."
"Lucy? Honey? What happened?" Mama whispered.
"Everything's alright, Love!" Daddy said in a resulting voice.
Mama looked down and saw the dead baby on the floor, then looked to her bloody stomach.
"Is that my little boy?" Mama screamed.
"Yes, we didn't need him in our family." I said giving her a cold look.
Mama started to hysterically scream.
"Shut the hell up!" I said slapping her.
She stopped screaming and quietly cried. Daddy was trying to comfort her but she didn't listen. Finally all was quiet.
"Lucy?" Mama asked breaking the silence.
"What?"
"You're right we didn't need him."
"Thank you for finally agreeing with me!" I said with glee.
"Now why don't you untie me and your dad so dad can make you a snack. I mean you must be hunger." Mama said slowly.
"Okay...but don't try anything." I said cautiously.
"Oh course not! I have to rest though I'm quite tired. That's why dad will have to make you a snack."
"Okay Mama."
I cut their ropes and stepped back. Daddy stood there and stared at me. The next I know he's tackling me. You picked me up and tied me up. He ran and got the phone. He looked at me coldly and called 911.
"And that's the story of my biggest regret." I said looking at Dr. Drake.
