What does it take to be a Lord?

"Oh! Ren, Changbin you made it!" Athea yelled from behind the wood pile that rested by a bush.

"Have you been able to look around the villiage yet?" Chan asked sticking his head out from behind the wood pile.

"Yes we have, I introduced her to Felix and Phoebe. It seems like they have a new food taster" Changbin laughs as Athea looks at Ren who's too busy looking up at the broken tree cottage Infront of her.

"Is....is this for me?" Ren asks in astonishment as Athea walked up to her and grabbed her hand.

"C'mon! It's far from being done but I'll show you what we've done so far!" Athea walked hand in hand to the front steps of the cottage.

The inside had an abundance of broken wood and chipped paint, the vines all around the cottage making it known that the cottage had been taken back by the nature surrounding the area.

Ren looked around, slowly running her hand on the side of the wooden walls.

"I can't believe this is for me..." Ren says softly looking at the female standing behind her.

"Well you better believe it sweetie, this is all for you, well....once it's fixed up." Athea smiled as Ren summoned her book.

"Then, do you mind me helping? I want to try some building magicks" Ren asks as Athea nods and steps out of the cottage.

"I can use the wood from outside correct?" Ren asks for consent as Athea holds up her hands and backs away.

"The floors yours Miss Ren" Athea says stepping back more, Chan quickly moving the female to avoid falling into the bush beside her.

Ren slowly takes in a breathe, looking at the spell book In her hands.

She slowly kneels to the ground placing her hands gently on the grass whispering the incantation, her pupils slowly turning a soft white hue as the wood starts to levitate.

"Holy shit" Changbin whispers as Athea and Chan watch in awe at the scene Infront of her.

As the cottage slowly starts to repair itself a figure slowly sneaks up on the trio watching the magic Infront of them.

The male jumps into chan yelling, "WOAH SINCE WHEN DID YOU BRING HOME A WITCH??"

The loud commotion stops the raven haired female from her concentration, the wood quickly falling back onto the ground.

Changbin tries to scold the male next to him but looking at the witch in front of him, The wood on the house that was abruptly stopped from being held together.

Ren shakes her head getting out from the small trance that was apon her, not noticing the slowly breaking wooden wall.

"MISS REN MOVE!" Changbin yells running towards the female who looks up at the falling wood.

Changbin quickly grabs the female dragging her out of reach from the collapsed wood.

Finally out of the trance the witch looked up at the male who's just glaring at the male beside them.

"Hyung! You cant just sneak up behind us and yell, she broke concentration and almost got hurt!" Changbin scolded the older male who just rolled his eyes.

"Well now I know. But I heard you guys were back, I just didn't know you brought a friend" The male scoffs as Chan wacks his head.

"Didn't even greet your lord huh Minho? Were you with Myra yet again, You two seem to be together alot" Chan shakes his head as Minho laughs.

"We are childhood friends after all, of course Im with her. But I'm also a gaurd and it's my duty to come check in on you guys, I ran into Jisung on the way here and he told me of your new witch friend, she's quite young isn't she?" Minho asks looking over to the female who's rubbing her head, Still in Changbins arms.

Athea walks over to the female pulling her up to her feet, helping Changbin after.

"Are you alright? That was pretty scary" She said as Ren nodded, becoming non verbal due to the trance.

"C'mon, let's take you back to my house for the time being." She says gently taking the females arm leading her to the pathway back to the house.

"Chan! could you, Minho, and Changbin continue to building? I am going to take Miss Ren back for her to rest, you guys drained the poor woman" Athea exclaimed as Chan nodded and bowed before dragging the two gaurds to the wood pile.

"Is the tea good? I got it from a neighboring villiage's lord on a trip" Athea asked stirring her tea.

Ren stares at the tea, her hands cupping the glass softly.

"I'm sorry for ruining the construction....I didn't mean to cause a mess" The female apologizes to the female Infront of her.

"Don't worry about it, A little mess won't hurt anybody." Athea reassures the female.

"Your such a nice lord...All the lord's I've met aren't as nice as you." Ren says looking up at Athea who sighs.

"Ever since the kings corruption it's been hard to find any good hearted lords, I'm glad that I can be a Lord my people aren't afraid of. My people are human as well, I should treat them as such right?" Athea ponders as Ren stirs her tea, adding more sugar.

"How do you become Lord?" Ren asks as Athea takes a sip from the glass Infront of her.

"It truly takes a lot, theres alot of heart and spirit that comes into it. Lord's aren't just appointed, I was selected by the old Lord before death only after Chan and the rest of my now gaurds recommended me to be." Athea explains, her serious face slowly turning into a smirk.

"Why? Are you planning to overthrow me Miss Ren?" Athea playfully asks as Ren gasps.

"No! I could never do that to you! I do not wish to overthrow you, I've just....never met such a kind lord like yourself" Ren explains as she plays with her hands.

"I'm just teasing, It means alot that you think that way about me. Especially because we haven't known each other for that long." Athea continues, her face turning into a soft smile.

"But to answer your question, You have to be appointed. You must really have to impress the people in the villiage and the gaurds, it's extremely nice. The people in the villiage are Truly amazing" Athea continues, she gets up taking the empty cups setting them on the counter.

She turns to Ren and helps her get on her feet, "Let's get you to bed hmm? You definitely look very drained" She says as Ren nods following the female up the stairs to her room.

"I really like it here." Ren says once she's in bed.

"I'm really glad you've trusted us. It means alot more than you know" Athea replied getting up and walking to the door.

"Sleep well Miss Ren, I'll come wake you when your cottage is complete" She waves and walks out of the room.

'Being a Lord is alot of work' Ren thinks to herself as she falls asleep.
