It all started with a flash.

No, no one is joking, it happened with an actual flash.

The day started as normal as Kirino can remember since he joined Raimon. Tenma had burst into his room with all that sunshine and enthusiastic shit and started talking about some new FIFA game that Kirino half heard. He just let the younger kid rant about it because Kirino doesn't have the heart to turn him away. He smiles and nods once in a while.

Shinsuke had also taken the pleasure of barging into his room with a big smile on his face and Kirino had half the mind to pat the boy's head. No matter how much time has passed, Shinsuke had only grown, like, two inches and all the former Raimon members make sure to remind him of that. Well, the kid doesn't refuse the head pats so that's a thing.

Shindou walked into the room while Tenma and Shinsuke were busy bombardings Kirino with information and trying to get him to play the game. The guy had woken up earlier than anyone (of course he does) and went for a run.

Kirino just waved at him as a greeting until the two younger kids noticed the grey-haired. They shout their greetings at their former captain who tells them to quiet down before returning their greetings with a smile. Kirino shook his head fondly.

Most of his mornings would go like this. Tenma and Shinsuke had made it their mission to come into his room every morning just to talk about anything after he had moved into the manor when Aki had offered it. He had moved out of his house when he entered college and needed a place to stay and somehow Tenma knew. So the kid told Aki about it and the woman popped out of nowhere to tell him.

And of course, like any other person, he just grabbed the chance. Kirino will be eternally grateful to Aki for the help (and Tenma too but he never told the kid just to tease him about it.)

Shinsuke wasn't staying there but he came every day to hang out with Tenma and Kirino got roped into it. It was a nice change, the two kids were loud and cheerful but it was contagious so Kirino never complained about it. Shindou moved in at a later time.

Apparently, the guy wanted to be independent so he moved out of his house, and now here he is, sipping on a cup of piping hot coffee at 8 in the morning.

" So! When are we meeting with the others? " Tenma asked as a reminder of the plan they previously made with the others. Shinsuke perked up at the question, shaking in enthusiasm as he also asks.

Shindou exhaled, " Like usual, we'll meet by the court at the riverbank for a match and plan our way from there. " he says with a simple hum and Kirino glanced at him.

" Do we know if Fei is coming or not? " He asked, curious of the green-rabbit-looking kid with sparkling eyes whenever they meet up once in a while. Fei had the fascination of a child (clearly because he is one) whenever he came by to their time to hang out. He was particularly close to Tenma, of course, with the whole Chrono Stone and SSC thing.

Things when on as usual after that event, and they got to play in the national until that Alien shit happened. God, if they thought Aliea was insane a decade ago, that new shit was a whole different thing. Coach Endou almost got a heart attack when he found out. But hey, at least Kirino got to be the temporary captain of Raimon.

( And yes, Kirino is still salty that he didn't get chosen. )

" He is coming, I'm sure of it! Fei never missed any of our hangouts with the others! " Tenma says with a beaming smile, no trace of doubt in his words. Well, the kid isn't wrong. Fei hasn't missed any of their monthly hangouts and Kirino wonders just where he gets his free time.
