It feels like he's falling.
Kirino stifles a groan from leaving his lips as he cracks his eyes open. His body feels heavy against whatever surface he's on. Kirino tries to move his body, which was numb against the ground.
Or the lack of ground for him.
Kirino was quickly alarmed, eyes broadening in shock as his hair flailed against his face, the wind pushing as opposed to the weight of his body. Acknowledging his situation, Kirino starts panicking mid-air, his lung constricting in reflex. The wind slaps at his eyes, preventing him from seeing anything other than the blue sky.
Just as he tries to move, his body struck on a solid surface. Kirino gasped out in pain, the air knocked out of his lungs as he starts sinking. It was at that moment he learned that he was now underwater, the oxygen around quickly being replaced by water.
It's unclear all around and Kirino can't see a thing other than blurs of lights around him. It's dark and suffocating, it's like the space around him starts to get smaller and smaller, trapping him in an endless sea. His lungs burn from the absence of oxygen, the foreign water invading his organs and it makes his body burn. The urge to breathe is unbearable, his chest felt like exploding.
Dying, dying, dying, I'm dying-
Help, help, help, please, please, please, help me please-
I don't want to die, I don't want to die, I don't want to die-
There's a distant sound, drowned out by the foreign water before there's a tug.
And Kirino is shortly breathing again. He moves around, flailing his limbs to find something, anything to hook him down. There's a solid surface against him and Kirino takes that as a sign to finally breathe.
His mouth opened and a gasp tore through his throat as he suck in all the oxygen his body could take. He greedily takes it all in, chest heaving up and down while his body trembles. He forces the foreign salt water out of his throat, squeezing every part so it would leave.
There's an unfamiliar weight on his back, one that is warm against his ice-cold skin. It forms a circle, a repeating loop on his trembling body that somehow grounded him to reality as Kirino violently coughed out the remaining salt water. The sound around him is muffled and drowned out, the echoing of voices getting louder and louder as his eyes slowly focused on his sight.
" -kid! "
" Hey kid! Can you hear me? "
His vision is blurred and it was spinning around, he could barely make out the figure of the person next to him. He absently noticed that quite an amount of people has gathered near him, whispering their words of concern.
" Is he okay? " an older woman questioned concern and fear written all over her face as she steps closer. The man looks at her and shakes his head, " I don't know, he's not responding. "
" Let him breathe for a moment. He had just almost drowned. "
He had just almost drowned. He had just almost drowned.
