The boy is a heavy thing.
I grunt and groan as I drag his limp body to his farm house. I drop his arms and huff.

"God!" I shake my arms out and re-grab his wrists and pull him the rest of the way and kick his door open, sweat dripping from my forehead and my hair frizzy and sticking to my neck and forehead,

"Come on-" I mutter as I pull him in and drop him on the floor. I pant, taking a breather with my hands on my hips, this boy was lucky he lived so close or else I would've left him in the woods.

I knelt down next to him and grab his face and hover my hand over his cheek and mumble:

"By earth and wind, fire and water—shall you hear my call, powers of silence and peace, birth and re-birth, heal this body, for he is good, and is in need of mending." A white glow fed through the creases of my hand, his cheeks pulls itself together with a rather gross sound coming from the cut sealing. I got out of there as fast as I could and hope he thinks it was a dream.

The day after the next I decide to finally go back to the woods to look for berries once again. This time in a green dress— the color of sage, my hair parted in halves and separated by two braids that fell flat in front of my chest.

"I knew it!" A voice says from behind me...a painstakingly familiar voice. "I knew you were real! How did you do it?!"

I turn around and see the young boy in the same clothes as he was in three days ago—I could tell from the mud that was all over him.

"Joshua..."

"How did you heal me? You are a witch are you not? Wow! I know a witch!"

"Shhh!" I stand up, "Don't yell about such things, I could be found out," I stomp over to him, "you don't want me burning do you?"

"No, never. You're too beautiful...and kind." His face was red, "And pretty, you're very pretty, thank you."

"What? Why did you say thank you?"

"Because I thank you for blessing me with your gorgeous presence..." he pauses briefly, "I hope my bluntness doesn't harm you in any way."

"No...it doesn't, I just don't understand why you are thanking me."

"Miss, you don't understand--You have bewitched me with your beauty." he swung his hands around in the air as he spoke. Which was interesting to say the least.

"Um..." My face contorts, this man sounds like Shakespeare but even more love-sick.

"I must know...do you feel the same?"

"Joshua-"

"Josh is fine." He interrupts, but out of kindness, though still annoying.

I clear my throat. "Josh, sweet boy, I don't know you in the slightest. Therefore I don't know how I feel about you--considering I know nothing about you." His face falls, but his brows just furrow as he snatches my arm and yanks further into the sun-lit forest.

"Hey, where are you taking me!" I pull at my arm. He whips around and glares at me.

"Relax, lady, I'm not going to hurt you, or burn you. You are too beautiful to burn, unless it's in my heart." His scowl turns into a heartwarming smile. I couldn't help but laugh, his words made me want to throw up or blush and hug him...I can't pick what one I want to do more.

He lead me into opening in the trees, a small haven that was nestled between villages that was accompanied by a babbling brook. A small blanket was laid out and a woven basket that sat at an angle in the center of it.

"How curious..." I rip my arm away and in a sarcastic tone say: "I wonder who would've set this cute picnic up."

"I wonder, must be a mysterious man."
