sofia rodriguez has had a job at liverpool football club as a therapist for three years now. she's good friends with all the players, especially roberto firmino. she's scared to do something without getting her best friends approval first, just in case she makes a mistake accidentally. so when the her rich parents offered to buy her a fancy house in manchester, she knew she had to make the first move, sofia had always wanted a nice house.
as soon as the news she was about to move in came about, sofia was nothing but excited. she packed most her things at once, only a day from now.
"coco! we're moving house!" sofia says, speaking to her beloved british shorthair cat, coco.
this new house would be amazing she thought to herself, more room for her and coco, and maybe to have a child! after all, she was 27.
sofia ends up falling asleep from the fact she lost all her energy being so excited. coco falls asleep on top of her.
a few hours later- 4am
"c-coco, get off me please." she mumbles.
"OH MY GOD DID I FALL ASLEEP? FUCK!" sofia panics to coco.
"oh, only a few hours. why am i even worrying? only a few more things." she continues to her cat.
she finishes packing up coco's toys and her phone stuff and heads to manchester in her brothers fancy car at once. she only had a few bags and was getting new furniture from her parents anyway.
as soon as the car approaches the house, sofia's eyes lit up. it was a mansion of her dreams. she gets out the car at once, quickly saying her goodbye and thank you to her brother. she gets coco in her pet carrier, puts her by the door to get her other bags. it is at that moment, she locks eyes with her new neighbour, joão cancelo. of course she knew who he was, she worked for liverpool of course. he gave her a smile, she smiled back.
"oh you must be the new person moving in next door. it's been empty for a while now. i saw people come in and out of the house. well, i'm joão cancelo, manchester city player." he said, so gracefully.
sofia was trying to not fuck this up. she could've said "your so hot! marry me now." as much as she wanted to.
"oh yes! i know, i work as a therapist for liverpool football club. i've seen you at games, plus we have two portugese players ourself!" sofia replies, so nervously.
she was so used to talking to footballers, it was literally her job! but with joão, it was different.
joão just let out a friendly giggle and they both smiled at each other, as sofia enters her new house.
"woah coco! look how big it is in here! so much room for you to play. madre has already put in the furniture, she told me." sofia says excitedly, not trying to be too loud. what if joão could hear her? coco just replies by meowing.
suddenly, sofia's mum calls her.
"madre! i love it here, so much!" she screams out of excitement.
"yes, mi niña such a pretty place. from what i've heard, a famous fútbol player lives next door." her mother replies.
"shush madre, what happens if he can hear us!" sofia whispers.
"don't be silly sofia! he can't." sofia's mum replies, laughing.
sofia obviously felt less worried.
"he's so hot! anyway, hermano said you and padre might move back to colombia? is that true?" she asks, quite worried.
"well hija, we don't know yet. maybe?" her mother tries to reassure her.
despite not being british, the rodriguez family was very well off, from the family buisness and heritage money.
"i have to go now sofia, adios!" her mother says.
"hasta luego!" sofia replies, like her mum just didn't announce her possible moving news. sofia loved her mother more than anything.
on the bright side, she had this new house and joão cancelo.
