The New XIII

The kids found themselves in another room. They saw another cloaked figure sitting on a lowered chair. "He's Xemnas, the true number I. Superior of the In-Between." Xatlyn explains as she exited the corridor. "You should at least know about him." Xatlyn kneels down on the ground in front of him, gesturing for the kids to do the same.

"My organization is down a member. I need to figure out who that is right now." She told the kids, not expecting a response in return. It took her a couple weeks to even mutter a word, let alone respond to someone. She lifts up her hand, summoning her keyblade.

"This is a keyblade. It's what helps us organization members collect hearts." Xatlyn notices as both kids looked up at the blade, realizing they saw it before. "Before today, I had been the only one capable of using such a device." Her keyblade disappeared as she gently takes the kids arms, lifting them up. "I need to see if at least one of you can wield it."

The boy summoned a keyblade almost identical to Sora's. He gave a little gasp, noticing the blade. The girl lowered her hand, giving up entirely. "Congratulations, number XIII." Xatlyn places a gentle hand on the boy's shoulder before turning over to the girl.

"Please don't feel down, child." She gently brushes a bit of hair out of the girl's face. "Only one of you would have been able to use the keyblade, but I'll find another task for you." The girl lightly grasps Xatlyn's hand, igniting another memory.

Talyn was in Radiant garden, chasing a little girl around. The two were playing close to the castle. "Ha! I got you!" Talyn exclaimed as they grabbed the girl, making her laugh. "I got you, ———!" The two laughed.

The two calmed down from their high before sitting down on the grass, looking up at the sky. "Talyn, will we always be friends?" The girl asked them. They turn to the blonde girl. "Of course. I'll always be with you."

The girl looked over, seeing some flowers. She walks over and starts picking them. Before Talyn could question, the girl screamed and ran away as blue monsters started chasing her.

Talyn got up and summons their keyblade. Finally catching up to the monsters, she noticed a woman with short, blue hair carrying a keyblade of her own. The two fought the monsters together.

After the last monster was defeated, the girl ran back over to Talyn. Talyn kneeled down to her level, wrapping her arm around her. "You scared me, ———, but thank goodness you're ok."

The woman softly smiled, watching the two hug. She looked down at Talyn's keyblade. "You have a keyblade, too?" She asked Talyn.

Talyn stood up. "Yes, trained under Master Urd. Who did you train under?" The woman's keyblade disappeared. "I was trained by Master Eraqus. I just passed my Mark of Mastery exam." Talyn smiled excitedly. "No way, I just did like a year ago."

"My name is Aqua." The two shook hand. "Greetings, Master Aqua. I'm Talyn." They then gestured to the little girl clinging onto them. "And this is ———." Aqua softly smiled at the girl, receiving a small smile in return.

"What are those monsters, Aqua?" Talyn asks her. "They're the Unversed. I was sent here to get rid of them." Talyn listens to Aqua. "I'm also looking for my friend, Ventus. Have you seen him?" Talyn remembered hearing the name a long time ago.

"I think I saw a kid with blonde hair over by that way." They gestured down another pathway, leading away from the castle. "He couldn't have gotten far, Aqua." Aqua nodded a thanks. "I hope to see you again, Talyn." Talyn smiled back. I hope so, too."

Aqua ran off in that direction as Talyn turns to the girl. "Let's get you back home, Naminé." The two joined hands as they walked off in the opposite direction of Aqua. Talyn kept their keyblade out in case another Unverse popped out.

Xatlyn was pulled out of the memory, watching the girl take her hand away and drop her head in shame. "I may not truly know you, Naminé. And even though you're not an official member of my organization, I will do everything I can to get you a heart as well." That got the girl to stop sulking.

Xatlyn turns to the boy with the keyblade. "As for you, you've joined the ranks, Roxas. Number XIII. The Key of Destiny."
