Staysha's Point of View.

Four Hours Before...

"I'll call you back when I go on break," I told him.

"No, Staysha. You don't understand. I need you to help me." My brother spoke on the other line.

"I will help you after the fact I go on break, I can't get fired right now with talking to you. Please, Evan, just give me a few hours." I told him before hanging up. I sighed as I had looked over to Anna who was already looking at me.

Anna, oh Anna. She was one of my best-friends. Scratch that. She was my only best-friend. I had met her when I had started my first year nursing and since then we have been close. She was as well dating my brother. They have been dating a few weeks after her and I had even met, so for about a year.

"What's wrong?" She had asked as she had approached me.

"Evan." I said. "He keeps calling me." I told her. "I don't know what he wants but he keeps asking me for help and I told him I'd visit him during my break."

"Oh, really?" She asked, I had just nodded. "He hasn't even talked to me all week." She pouted. My eyes widened in shock, he always talks to her and if he's not talking to her he's most likely talking about her. "Can I come with you to see him?" She asked.

I nodded, "Of course."

I got back to finishing reports for today, I wasn't doing check-ups because I had needed to catch up on paperwork. But, once it was break Anna and I had left in my car heading over to his place.

----------

"Evan?" I called out. But there was no answer. Anna had started calling out for him as well but he wasn't saying anything back either.

"Did he say he was going anywhere?" Anna asked me.

"He said he needed a place to stay and I told him I'd let him live with me. But he doesn't have a key to my house and I don't think he'd stay outside for several hours." I told her.

We walked around his small apartment, and saw that the bathroom light was on, and heard the fan on inside the bathroom. I knocked on the door loud enough that Evan might be able to hear.

"Evan, c'mon! Don't make me open up the door and drag you out by your ear!" I shouted. I sighed when he didn't open up or make any noise to apprise me that he was in there. I turned towards Anna who had a fretful look on her face. "Can you go pack some of his stuff for me?" I asked her. She nodded before heading off to his room.

I kept bashing on the door but he wouldn't answer and I was getting irritated. I heard a scream, most likely coming from Anna which had startled me and I stopped knocking on the door before running into the room. I looked at Anna who had a petrified look on her face. Her hand was on her heart and she was directing to the bed. I looked over to see Evan's body. He wasn't sleeping. There was blood now soaking through his covers, his eyes were locked and his hand was flopped over the side of the bed.

"I thought he was sleeping," Anna said, and kept repeating, undoubtedly in shock. "He's not sleeping." Tears were gushing down her face. I didn't say anything and precipitously I felt as if my lunch just didn't want to sit well with my stomach. I ran out onto the balcony puking up my food onto the verdant area. It took a while to decide whether or not I was okay, when I had thought I was, tears were streaming down my face and I had gone back inside.

Anna had panic-attack and I tried reassuring her but nothing would work. I quickly pulled out my phone dialing 911 as they responded straightaway, and I informed them of my dead brother.
