Amerie's house was full of disguised students. We all looked fabulous. I went as Claire Danes' Juliet from the 1996 movie of Romeo + Juliet. I had put fake tears of glitter under my eyes. Amerie, Darren and I were hitting shots after shots.

"I am completely, utterly, spiritually and hormonally done with Cash. He's an asshole."

"Shush now. No more drama. Drink up." I said as I pour some vodka in our glasses. Tonights deserved straight vodka in wine glasses. The fuller, the better.

Dusty, Spider and Ant all entered at the same time. Darren caught me looking at him. He was dressed as a vampire.

"Promise me you will not engage, you will not flirt, you will not look in his direction for longer than two seconds." They said worried about my feelings.

"Maybe if we talk, everything will stop to hurt. And we can end this non-stop hating game."

"No, honey." Amerie replied.

"Yeah, you guys are right. Like always." I rolled my eyes at them, not so excited to be admitting that.

"Let's do some shooooooots!" Amerie yelled and we all followed her to the kitchen. We drank and drank until the sun set. By the night, our broken hearts didn't matter, we had numbed them with vodka. I danced with Darren outside. When we entered the house, we saw Dusty and Amerie were in a hot kissing session on the couch.

"Oh she forgot about Malakai." I said to Darren. They gasped.

"That's a way to put it." They chuckled. "I'll get us more drinks."

"Oi, JJ!"

I turned around to the scream of my name and saw Ant finishing chugging his beer. We hadn't talked since the whole threesome thing, which again did not happened. He waved his hand insisting me to come over. I glanced at Darren in need of tips on what I should do. I was hesitant.

"Go." They said giving me a tiny push towards Ant. I sighed and continued my way to the boy. I awkwardly sat besides Ant, on the brown couch in the living room. There were only a few people, the rest probably outside, it was quieter.

"What is it?" I shyly said.

"Hi to you too." He smirked and I crossed my arms in result of his cocky response. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I don't know who put the paper in SLTs but you didn't deserve that."

He actually caught me off guard, I was surprised of hearing him apologize. Especially for something he didn't seem to be responsible for.

"Thanks."

Ant gave me a hug before disappearing towards Amerie's backyard. I sat there, still shocked of his honesty. Rare it was with guys our age. He looked really good with that skull makeup. I finally stood up, replacing the straps of my dress that I had fallen down my shoulders as a firm hand took me by the wrist. It pulled me out of the party and into a silent room. By the look of it, probably Amerie's bedroom. I sighed when I finally saw who's hand it was.

"I'm really not in the mood."

"Listen to me."

"You look ridiculous with those teeth."

Spider scoffed and got the plastic vampire teeth out of his mouth, saliva dropping all over his lips and chin.

"Ew." I said disgusted.

"Now will you listen?"

I crossed my arms, showing him I would listen but didn't mean it would change anything between us.

"I'm sorry, okay."

"Ant beat you to it."

"What do you mean?"
