George woke up in the middle of the night, shivering.

He wasn't thinking properly, and the first thing his brain told him to do was to walk to the guest bedroom. He opened the door, and saw Karl laying there, back to the door, scrolling on his phone.

"Karl."

He turned around to face George, his expressing inviting him to continue speaking.

"I'm cold."

"C'mere." Karl beckoned the boy over, wrapping his arms around the older as he slipped into his bed.

George, for one, was so sleepy that he fell asleep almost immediately, but Karl was kept awake.

He glanced over at the man in his arms. He looked so.. perfect. He knew that this wasn't normal, and came to the conclusion that over thinking wouldn't help, and decided to sleep on it.

Karl woke up early, slowly unwrapping his arms from around George before getting up.

He watched George for a while, with a smile as the adorable boy slept, then walking out to start his day. It was in the spur of the moment, that Karl decided to place a quick kiss on his forehead.

Karl groaned, and tugged at his hair. This wasn't normal, he shouldn't be feeling this way. George was a friend, and would always think of Karl as one. He was so busy thinking that he didn't notice that he was about to walk into a wall, or that he was even falling in the first place until Sapnap caught him.

"Karl? Karl? You alright?"

"Oh yeah, I just wasn't paying attention, thanks."

He carried on to the kitchen, still thinking.

Thinking as he tipped the cornflakes into his bowl, still thinking as the watched the light reflect off of his spoon. Thinking as Dream walked in humming, thinking as Dream waltzed out, still thinking, thinking,  as the sun burned a hole in his back.

George's heart was racing a million miles a second.

Karl had just kissed him? Karl had kissed him!

He sighed. Karl didn't like him back, it's just how he was. Karl just needed to touch people, that's how he lived.

This isn't normal, he shouldn't have feelings for his best friend, of all people.

He forced himself to push his feelings aside and get up, he needed to get on with his day.

He walked into the kitchen and the first thing he saw was Karl. Staring down at an empty cereal bowl, his beautiful brown locks haloed by the sunlight. His beautiful gray eyes looked distant, lost, maybe even a bit sorrowful, but George couldn't help but admire the boy.

Karl looked like he wanted to be left alone, so George made himself a coffee as quietly as possible, and crept back to his room.

Dream texted Sapnap in the afternoon.

'What's up with Karl? He was super spaced out this morning.'

'No idea, and usually he and George stick together like glue. I don't think they've even spoken to each other today.'

'Welp.'

They decided to head out for lunch, but upon invitation, both Karl and George declined.

During their lunch, the space was filled with idle chatter and jokes.

Suddenly Dream's voice adopted a more serious tone.

"Okay, but what the hell  is going on with George and Karl?"

"They're always all over each other, so obviously in love. But Karl looked lost this morning, and I haven't heard a peep from George, this isn't normal."

"I don't think there's much we can do but be there, and wait till they figure it out."
