Rue's POV:
I was learning about the Sanderson sisters in school. Of course I already knew about them but it's tradition to learn about them every year around Halloween. I had just moved to Salem. I didn't like it very much but I was excited to explore. The old Sanderson cottage was just up the road from my new house so I was very excited to look around there.

"Now," began my teacher. I forgot her name. "Can anyone tell me about the Sanderson sisters?" She asked the class. I raised my hand. "Miss Dennison?" She called on me. "Winifred, Mary and Sarah Sanderson were witches from the 1600's. They would suck the souls out of children to make themselves younger. Winifred, the eldest, had most of the magic. She brewed the potions with the help of her spell-book." I explained.

"Go on." The teacher encouraged. "Mary was the middle sister. She could smell where the children were, which was of great help to Winifred. She would tell them where the child was and they would make a point to find it." I explained. "And Sarah?" My teacher asked. "Sarah was the youngest of the sisters. She would lure the children into the house by singing the song of enticement. She was known for being a little bit more ditsy then her sisters. But she made up for her lack of knowledge with her intense beauty."

The teacher just clapped. "Well done Miss Dennison!" She began. "Do you know Sarah's song?" She asked with a hopeful look. "Yes but I don't want to sing for the class." I said quickly. "Please!" The teacher begged. "Fine." I agreed reluctantly.

"Come little children, I'll take thee away, into a land of enchantment. Come little children, the time's come to play, here in my garden of magic." I sang. "Astounding, Rue, really incredible. It's like Sarah is here!" She said in astonishment. "Thank you, although it wasn't that good." I answered, brushing some hair behind my ear. My teacher just clicked her tongue and walked away from my desk. "A+ for miss Dennison this term!" She exclaimed.

My face fell into a happy shock. My obsession for the Sanderson sisters surprisingly came in handy for once. A few minutes later, the bell rang and school was over. It was Halloween and a full moon. I was so excited to take my sister, Dani, trick-or-treating. I was making my brother come too. Max had no enthusiasm whatsoever, but we always made him go anyway.

I was at the parking lot waiting for Max. He came outside of the school building talking to a girl. She was about the same age as him. Max looked very excited while he was talking to her. I shook my head. "Ugh. Straight youth." I giggled to myself.

Max was taking forever to finish his conversation, so I walked over. "Hey there brother of mine." I said in a sarcastic tone. "Heyya sis! Alison, this is Rue, my older sister. Rue this is Alison. I only met her today since we just moved here." He explained. "Hello there Alison! As you just heard, I'm Rue." I introduced myself to her. I walked closer to her and spoke so only she could hear: "If you hurt my brother, I will turn you into a human pretzel, curse over your dead body and kick it down a flight of stairs." I whispered. I backed away and walked closer to Max.

Alison nodded her head and smiled at me with a scared expression. I smiled at her warmly and shook her hand. "Sorry for the sinister introduction but I just had to let you know." I said and nodded my head. "Of course. I had no intention of hurting him in the first place but I will never ever even think about it now." She stated awkwardly.

"Thank you Rue! What a great first impression!" Max said sarcastically and shot me a death stare. "You remind me of myself." I giggled and stroked his short hair. "You're so short." I teased. "Why are lesbians so tall? I swear you just don't make sense." Max teased back. "Don't joke about being lesbian. It hurts some people deeply. I know she's your sister but that's a sensitive topic and I do not want to see you tease her about it, okay?" Alison said as if she were standing up for me.
