after taking a shower and slipping into the way too uncomfortable and heavy suit, his so-called mother was already calling him from downstairs as the guests arrived. jeongguk threw a last glance at himself into the mirror, sighing deeply as a preparation for whatever he was gonna face, and eventually walked downstairs.

his parents already had welcomed the guests as he silently stepped beside his father, bowing at the equally classy family. "you look amazing, sweetheart." the woman, missus byun, greeted him with a warm smile, patting his shoulder.

"thank you, madame." he politely bowed at the older omega who smiled at him kindly, and jeongguk bowed at her husband as well who nodded and followed his mate and the jeon couple.

jeongguk sighed and was about to follow them as well, but flinched, feeling an arm circling around his waist from behind, pulling his smaller figure back against a hard chest. "hey babe." he heard the disgusting voice of his so-called boyfriend, whispering to his ear and he curled his finger into fists, trying to hold himself back from punching the alpha right then and there.

the two of them were just pretending that they were in a relationship. of course, forced by their fathers since it affected the positivity for both business development. their fathers cooperated with each other's company and since he still hadn't turned eighteen, he didn't find his mate yet. and jeongguk was longingly waiting for that day to come, to finally stop this pretentious game. he knew there were very rare chances to find one's true mate and knowing how fucked up his life was he knew it was nearly impossible. but the hope in his omega's words was really something, and it made him hope as well.

"but you're not my mate, baekhyun." jeongguk hissed, glaring at the male who just kept smirking at the omega, eyeing his body upside down, his perverted gaze making the smaller boy squirm.

"well," baekhyun suddenly grabbed the omega by his waist, pulling him closer to his chest, their faces only inches apart. "we and our families are the only one who knows about that, darling." he whispered, kissing the petite boy on his cheek as jeongguk struggled to pull back from him. "and sooner or later," he whispered, his deep voice sending shivers down the omega's spine. "you'll become mine, bae."

his tone made the boy cringe with his entire existence. fizzing, "in your wildest dreams asshole." jeongguk finally managed to push the boy away before he sprinted to the dining room as well.

after an intense dinner and talks about money and how to improve their business, jeongguk somehow managed to survive the meeting with the byuns. his parents accompanied the guests to the front door along with him lazily trailing behind as they bid goodbye to each other. and as always, he sported them a fake smile, giving his fake boyfriend a quick hug as usual before they finally disappeared in their limousine.

"why do you always just hug him?" he heard his stepmother's voice as he turned around to face the lady who looked at him, scoffing. his lips, which were curled up into a fake smile, turned into a thin line as he stared at her with blank eyes.
