jeongguk's perspective.
an awkward silence filled the car. neither i nor taehyung uttered a single word. after what happened at the beach, both of us seemed uncertain about the whole situation.
my head was leaning against the car window, my eyes following the other cars passing by while i kept glancing at taehyung from time to time, but he didn't even spare me a single glance and it hurt me, so bad.
but even though he seemed to be concentrated on driving, i noticed some weird actions of his. he was biting his lips and it looked like he was thinking about something that was clearly bothering his mind. and the firm grip with which he clasped the steering wheel showed how unrelaxed he was.
i felt bad that what happened at the beach perhaps could be the cause of his actions now. and i felt the necessarily need to talk to him and tell him that there was nothing to worry about now.
so, gathering all of my courage, i inhaled a deep breath before releasing it as i turned my body straight in front of the windshield of the limousine. i gulped and a cough followed, trying to catch his attention that way. but he seemed too lost in his own thoughts that he didn't even react to me. i frowned, not expecting it wouldn't work since he always paid his full attention to me.
i closed my eyes and sighed before gathering enough courage to speak to him, again. "taehyung?" i called his name but again he didn't react to it. his eyes were still focused on the road.
i furrowed my eyebrows even more, obviously confused. i bite my bottom lips, uncertain as i dared to poke his shoulder with my index finger. but as soon as i did so, he flinched at my touch, making me startle as well. i stared at him as he stared back at me, a bit perplexed. "i-i am sorry, i didn't mean to startle you-"
cutting me off. "you- you didn't." he spoke, focusing back on the road. "i was just so absorbed in my own thoughts that i completely forgot i wasn't alone in the car." he apologized.
i nodded, biting my bottom lip as i looked down at my lap, my fingers playing with the hem of my sweater. "if it's because of what happened at the beach-"
"it's not. it's something personal, don't worry." again, he was interrupting my speech as a small smile found its way up to his lips, sending chills down my spine, making me look away, biting my bottom lip.
calming my stupid heart and my overexcited wolf down, i looked back at him, staring at his side profile which wasn't less beautiful. too bad, he couldn't be mine. i sighed. "but you know, if something is bothering you, you can always tell me." i whispered, worried, as he seemed not okay at all, what does mean that something was really bothering him a lot and i didn't know what it was. and that made me worried. that i didn't know how to fix it or find a way to help him.
but he shook his head, still smiling. "it's nothing serious. but i'm thankful you're here for me."
and i will always be here for you.
his smile calmed me down a bit but still, there was a feeling what told me that he was lying to me. but maybe he wasn't ready to talk about it? maybe it was too personal to share with me? maybe i shouldn't pressure him too much to tell me about his problems? and perhaps it wasn't even that bad how you think it is?
