a blank wall.

just like his emotions.

jeongguk couldn't keep track of how long he was staring at it, or rather, staring at nothing. his mind was repeatedly bringing up the memories of his last interaction with baekhyun, and he wanted to erase those torturous moments completely. it was a war of him against himself.

and he was losing.

every single day.

a loud buzzing suddenly echoed from somewhere, making him jolt up in surprise. his first thought was his parents, they must be calling him to nag him. rolling his eyes, he lazily sat up, glancing at his phone only to spot the name which was popping up on the display for like the fifth time.

hoseok. jung hoseok.

a spoiled beta whose family clearly owns too much money and property. and not to forget, the cousin of baekhyun. but he was one of jeongguk's few friends who he could call a real friend, who he could trust with his eyes closed.

hoseok was the only one who knew about his relationship with baekhyun besides his family. and he was like the opposite of baekhyun. sometimes he behaved like an asshat though. playing with some random girls and boys only to have fun or for a distraction from his shitty family. and jeongguk couldn't judge him. they both were sailing in the same boat after all.

the omega sighed, grabbing the phone as he accepted the call before holding the phone against his ear. "what is it?" he asked and heard the latter snickering from the other line.

"hello to you too dear." hoseok chirped, his voice too loud for the omega's liking.

jeongguk rolled his eyes, already feeling annoyed. "yeah, yeah, whatever. what is it?" he asked and lazily laid back on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

"it seems someone woke up with the wrong foot, huh?" hoseok uttered nonsense and jeongguk heard him giggling only to strain his nerves even more. if only the beta was in front of him right now, he would have surely kicked him in his ass. but alas, he wasn't here.

"what do you want? i'm really not in the mood for your dumb jokes." jeongguk spoke, irritated as he leaned his head back on the headboard of the bed, massaging his temples with other hand.

"well, i just called you to invite you to my party tonight." hoseok chirped, yet again, and jeongguk couldn't miss his excited voice echoing through the mobile phone.

he pulled the phone away, looking at it in disbelief for a second or two before he pressed it against his ear again. "god hoseok, you bothered me the whole time with continuous calls, only to invite me to a dumb party?" he whined, not believing this guy.

hoseok laughed. "oh, c'mon mah daughter, you have to come! without you, it will be so damn boring!" the beta whined as well, mimicking the omega's tone quite in a funny way.

jeongguk sighed. "hoseok, i'm not feeling well lately—"

"well, then that's the actual purpose my child." he spoke, cutting the younger off and jeongguk pulled the soft duvet over his body, breathing into its soft fur.

well, as he thought of it, hoseok wasn't completely wrong. he realised that he was that busy with dealing with his own problems that he totally forgot how much he isolated himself from the outside world and it was absolutely bothering and disturbing his mind. and some distractions won't harm, right?

snuggling into the duvet more, another sigh escaped his lips before he spoke up. "fine, i'll come." he gave in, hearing a loud squeal from the other line.

"awesome. eight in the evening, be punctual!" with that being said, jeongguk heard a buzz, indicating that the other line went dead. he threw his phone beside him on the bed before nuzzling his nose into the warmth of his fuzzy duvet, looking up as he stared at the ceiling. "i just hope i won't regret giving in."
