"Onto the next topic", Angela started, while the laughter in the room died down, "Theres been a lot of stuff going around about a certain girl and yourself so I gotta ask you this. Do you have a girlfriend?"
A smile formed on Von's face thinking of Jemima and he played with one of his dreads hanging out of his hat, "Nah". He kept his answer short and sweet but the women weren't going for it.
"Foreal. We really all thought that was your girl the way y'all was acting", Stephanie exclaimed while Loreal nodded her head in agreement.
"I mean", he paused to fix his watch that resting comfortably on his wrist, "she was my girl back in Chicago but we kinda broke things off"
Gigi trailed her eyes up and down as she looked at him before keeping them at his face, "oh so you flew her out?"
He laughed at her question while the other women joined him, "hell nah. Her sister stay out here so she's visiting"
"You guys still talk?", Stephanie asked as she laid her hands down on her thighs.
Von moved the mic so he could sit up a little,"We talk but not on that type of stuff. We never stopped speaking except from when i first moved down here. She was ignoring me and shit but her ahh folded when she saw me again"
"He still like her so bad", Loreal squealed making them all laugh.
"Luh dat girl", he said quietly but the mic still caught it.
As the room got quiet Gigi said, "Damn i'm still single".

2 hours later, Von had made it back home and saw Booka rummaging through his pantry.
He crept up behind him and smacked the backside of his head, "Yo ass ain't got no home to go to?"
The man flinched as he quickly turned around, "You know ain't nothing to eat in my house and you always got so much food for one person"
"How you even get in?", Von took his jacket off and threw it on the chair under the kitchen island. Booka looked up with his mouth full, "you said what?"
Von mushed his head before grabbing the bag of food he put down and went up to his room.
The sound of someone walking around the bedroom woke up the girl that slept in his bed. She opened her eyes to see the bathroom light on. Her phone read 16:34 after she'd tapped the screen.
"My fault. I woke you up?", she heard in front of her. "It's probably time I get up anyways"
He held out the Mcdonald's bag to her and she smiled widely taking it from him, "thank youuu". "Let me get a bite".
She held out her burger to his mouth, "big ass bite". The only noise that was in the room was the tiktoks that played on Jemima's phone while she ate. Von laid next to her after taking his shirt and pants off and wrapped his arm around the girl as he watched her.
