"If you come close to my wife again, I will kill you!" Anthony chuckled dryly and yanked Jason's hands from his collar. "She's going to find out son, how long do you think you can keep up this facade of being a nice and funny husband?" he patted his jacket and straightened his shirt collar. "It's none of your business, consider yourself warned, if you scare her again, you'll wish you'd killed me when you had the chance, Daddy!" Jason turned and left his father's office, slamming the door so hard it swung open again.

Cassidy had cried, his father had scared her at the wedding and she had cried. The memory of her tears was destroying him, and the fact that he and his damn father were the cause of them was killing him. Jason walked into his office and sat behind his desk still gritting his teeth. Damn bastard! If Anthony Mallory thought he was going to involve Cassidy in his feud with his son, then he was buying himself a ticket to hell.

He looked at his watch, it was long past the time he should have been home, but he couldn't go home angry, not to her. He would scare her, and one scary Mallory in her life was enough for her. Jason looked at his phone and smiled, Cassidy had gotten home in the late afternoon and was probably already asleep. He leaned back and loosened his tie, closing his eyes. This woman was going to be the end of him, he could still feel her lips on his and every time he closed his eyes, he saw her look after their kiss.

His brows drew together, Cassidy had been looking at him differently since the wedding and Jason couldn't help but wonder if his father had really managed to intimidate her and if she was planning to leave him. No, she said she wouldn't let his father achieve his, then what had changed? Was it possible Jason had done something to affect her behavior? But what?

He got up and walked to the door, maybe he wasn't paying enough attention to her, after the wedding he had gone back to work after spending a whole week with her entirely. Maybe that's why she was mad at him now? He should have taken her out to dinner, yes, a date would put her at ease and show her that Jason thought about her like she thought about him. He smiled, knowing that now, when he got home, dinner would be waiting for him on the kitchen counter, neatly wrapped in foil.

Cassidy seemed to like doing things like that, cooking, leaving his clothes washed and ironed on the bed in his room, changing the towels in the bathroom, it was cute. No one ever did such things for him unless he was paid for it, and she seemed to enjoy it. Maybe he should buy her a present? Something that is personal only for her. But what? Jason was still thoughtful as he parked in the underground parking lot and took the elevator to their penthouse.

He was just unlocking the door when a shot and a terrible scream were heard from inside, and his blood froze. Jason flung open the door and burst into the apartment when a second scream rang out. "Cassidy!" he ran into the living room and froze, letting out a sigh of relief. "Jason?" here she was, wrapped like a cocoon, only her eyes and nose were visible from the blanket, she looked at him startled and curious. More shots rang out and Cassidy jumped in terror and let out another small scream.

"What exactly are you doing,Cas?" he looked at the tv, raising an eyebrow, then back at the fearful expression on her face and walked towards her, leaving his things on the table behind the sofa. "I'm watching a movie" she replied and he sat next to her, looking at her figure curled up under the blanket. "Are you looking at him or hiding from him?" he smiled and her eyes showed that he was sulking under the blanket. "It's scary" she whimpered and looked at him with those huge blue eyes that looked like heavenly lakes.

"Okay, what do we have?" Cassidy jumped up like a toddler and picked up the bowl of popcorn from the table, then cutely crawled back onto the couch on three legs and pounced on Jason. She was so engrossed in the movie that she didn't notice how with each louder noise or sound of a gunshot, she rose little by little in his lap. Jason, however, was far from interested in the movie.
